Tobey Maguire was promoting his new film "Brothers" on the Tonight Show last night. Of course, right off the bat, Conan asked the real questions to which we want answers. Tobey talkes Spider-Man, and confirms the filming schedule. There is a great conversation here. Tobey even made a kid cry and screams at NBA players!

MovieTheaterLad- I thought Tobey did a fine job in the
spider-man movies(yes that means SM 3)
I think people just want a change.
I like and said this many time that
Brett Harrison(reaper) would be a great
Peter Parker. but I'm not sure that
happen if SM 4 does good in box office
numbers, but if SM 4 doesn't do great
than Brett Harrison should play Spidey
for Spider-Man 5/6..but thats just IMO.

is tobey suppose to do three more spiderman films i just would not like to see someone else play peter parker yet unless they do the whole remake thing. but he does a great job its the writers falt if a movie sucks.

I'm not the kind of person who likes to argue, but seriously? When you were a little kid and you imagined yourself swinging through NY and beating up bad guys as Spider-Man did you also check your watch to see if it was time to watch Plesantville on TV?

Tobey is a geek but NOT a lead who can carry a movie. He just doesn't have it. I have been thouroughly dissapointed at Tobey's performances since the first Spider-Man movie. He is absolutely not right for the roll.

Better casting choices include Justin Long, James Franco, Topher Grace, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and probably a bunch more, but I gotta get off the computer so I don't have any time to come up with any more.

@Cap: Naw dude. Toby didn't carry the movie, Spider-Man did. Spider-Man is one of the most popular and recognized superheroes of all time right up there with Superman and Batman. Spider-Man's debut films were a guaranteed success no matter who played the lead. Scott Thomson (AKA Carrot Top) or Bob Saget could have played Peter Parker and the movies would still make a ton of money at the box office.

For the record, at this point I think it's best if they just with Maguire.

Don't worry about the h8rs until SPIDEY 3 came out everyone loved TOBEY lol!

Same goes with the X-films!

Anyway TOBEYS a great SPIDEY, pity about 3 but 4 should be much better, it better be lol! ; D

But no to the REAPER guy as SPIDEY, he cant carry a movie and not a great actor, plus he's annoying as hell lol!!

Wow only after watching the video above do I think Toby's a likable guy. Maybe he was a good pick... He wouldn't have been my pick, but he's alright.

Gyllenhaal is going to be too busy slaving away on Disney's Prince of Persia sequels to be Spider-Man. Tobey might not be the iconic actor to play the Spider-man from the comics, but HE IS perfect for the new interpretation we're seeing in the movies. Especially in SM2, you can tell in certain scenes that Raimi wrote them specifically for Tobey.

LEEE777- I agree with you that before SM3 alot of people were on Tobey's nuts about how good of a Spiderman he was and then after SM3 now people want him replaced. I dont blame him for his performance I blame the director and the script but then again I didnt think that SM3 was a horrible movie, it wasnt a great movie either but it had its moments. I could have done without seeing EMO Peter Parker or the dancing though.
