Tom Holland Confirms SPIDER-MAN 4 Talks, But Says He "Won’t Make Another One For The Sake" Of It

Though we're sure Tom Holland will ultimately swing back into the MCU as Spider-Man, the actor has made it clear that he'll only don the suit again if "we can find a way to do justice to the character."

We always assumed Tom Holland would return as Spider-Man after the events of No Way Home, and while the actor is almost certain to swing back into the MCU at some point in the future, it sounds like things are far from set in stone.

While chatting at a recent press conference with the Critics Choice Association (via Collider), Holland made it clear that he will only move forward with another movie if he feels the story can do the character justice.

“All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character,” the actor told the press. “Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing.”

“I feel very protective over Spider-Man,” he continued. “I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character. If we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man. I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I'll only tell it if we can find the right one."

Spider-Man: No Way Home concluded on a bittersweet note for our Friendly Neighbourhood Web-Slinger, who gave up his best friend and the love of his life in order to prevent the catastrophic fallout of Doctor Strange's botched spell.

Peter ultimately decided not to reconnect with MJ and Ned, and instead focus on his crime-fighting career as Spider-Man without having to worry about the well-being of his loved ones. In a way, this would have served as a fitting send-off for Holland's version of the iconic hero, but the movie's massive success almost guaranteed a follow-up. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal have both confirmed that tentative plans for Spider-Man 4 are in place, but nothing has been officially announced.

Even if Holland does decide not to make a fourth solo Spidey adventure, we can't imagine he won't play a part in the next big Marvel Studios event movies, be in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Secret Wars, or both.

Homecoming was easily the best film of the trilogy so idk about each film getting better but No Way Home is a very close second. Anyways; he’s for sure coming back and I can’t wait!

@TheLobster - far from home was just the worst one for me. The characters are cringe asf but at the same time i felt nostalgic watching it recently.

@Gabimaru - I have issues with the film for sure (mostly to due with Lizard and Sandman) but there’s some truly amazing moments that felt earned and not cheap so I enjoy the film quite a bit.

@TheLobster - You're talking about no way home. and that's actually enjoyable for me and a very spider-man film unlike far from home.

@Gabimaru - most of it didn't land and it's a shame because Mysterio was actually pretty cool, I liked Holland and Zendaya's dynamic well enough, and the end had a good hook.

I mean the last movie ended on a great starting point as it got him away from Stark's legacy. No better time to pick up with him in college being the typical down on his luck Parker.

I can confirm that England has the worst food in the world. The United Nations should ban the use of the word cuisine by the English.

I am Scottish by descent along with Welsh. The food in Scotland is wonderful. The food in England is horrible everywhere.

They are totally different. The people are 1000% different too. The English are snobby a$$holes. The Scots are great friendly people. I have spent a ton of time in both countries. They may be glued together, but they are absolutely nothing alike.

That's why I almost never say British. The Scots, Weish, & even those wild Irish don't deserve the humiliation of being lumped in with those FuRktard English.

I’ll keep hoping these things turn out good but man this sounds like what a lot of actors said before in all the other projects that disappointed. They need to wipe everything clean dont bring back ned and MJ, and not have another big war with comedy sidekicks at the end with a bunch of good vs bad guys and just have Peter completely by himself with the new people he meets. But this like me thinking Kang was gonna be bigger and make it out when antman 3 started. And me when they said mandarin was gonna fight RDJ in ironman 3. For some reason they love trolling/scamming us
