Deadline has published a report on the crop of female filmmakers with projects lined up or currently shooting at Warner Bros., and in it they mention that the studio is looking for a woman to helm the planned reboot of Supergirl.

The trade reckons that this is part of a larger strategy following the massive success of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, which has been the studio's most successful DC project to date. This is obviously backed up by the recent hiring of both Ava DuVernay and Cathy Yan to direct New Gods and Birds of Prey, respectively.

No names are mentioned in connection with The Girl of Steel's next big-screen outing, but do you guys have anyone in mind? Drop us a comment in the usual place and let us know.

Good! We need more female directors, though do not force a female director if she is not a good fit for the project because of gender of the hero.
