RESULTS: Here's The Live-Action SUPERMAN Actor You Voted As Your Favorite!

We recently asked you to cast your votes and pick your favourite live-action Superman, and with so many interpretations of the hero across film and television, these results make for interesting reading.

Thousands of you recently cast your votes to choose ComicBookMovie.com's favourite live-action Batman (you can find the results by clicking here), but even more of you weighed in to single out the best Superman!

The Man of Steel has been portrayed by some great actors across film and television, and given the sheer amount of love comic book fans have for the character, we probably shouldn't be surprised by how passionate a response this poll generated. There can only be one winner, though, and we're sure the majority of you will be pleased.

With 38.22% of the vote, Superman: The Movie star Christopher Reeve swooped to victory as your favourite live-action Clark Kent. However, Justice League star Henry Cavill was nipping at his heels with 35.62%.

Recent controversies surrounding Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman lead Dean Cain did little to dampen your love of his Man of Tomorrow as he came in at third place with 10.78%. Next up was Smallville's Tom Holland with 6.17%, while current Kal-El, Superman & Lois star Tyler Hoechlin, received 5.07% of votes.

We're a little surprised to see Superman Returns and Crisis on Infinite Earths star Brandon Routh so far down the list with 2.91%, but weren't shocked that serial actors George Reeves (0.97%), Kirk Alyn (0.11%), Gerard Christopher (0.09%), and John Haymes Newton (0.07%) were at the bottom of the list given how hard it is to watch their respective performances.

So, there you have it. Reeve is a deserving winner, though we certainly can't ignore how close Cavill came to beating him.

The Man of Steel star has been ousted from the role following his return in Black Adam's post-credits scene last year, with James Gunn now plotting to cast a much younger Superman in his planned reboot for the DCU.

How do you feel about these results? Do you have any other poll ideas you'd like to see? Let us know in the comments section!

Is, was, and always will be Christopher, but Henry is a close second.

@DarthOmega - I would take Hoechlin, Welling, or even Routh as number 2.

@Termin8r - Routh is underrated imo. I thought he did a great job. Embarrassing for me to say, but I never watched a single episode of Smallville.

@DarthOmega - I’ve never been a fan and tbh the 70’s-80’s Superman was the main reason I stopped having an interest in comics outside of Batman and the X-men until the 90’s. I thought the first 3 Superman movies were as bad or just as bad as the superhero shows that came before. Even as a kid I thought they were dumb. I still don’t understand how people can like the trunks either.

Tom Holland?

@mountainman - yes, Tom Holland. The best superman.

Not to be confused with the best Spiderman, Michael Keaton. Or the best wonder woman, Danny Trejo.

@Origame - They can recast all they want but Dame Maggie Smith will always be Black Widow.

@mountainman - The FACT that article is still not edited tells you tiny little bit more about the author, like if regular readers here didn't know already!
