Predictions for Season 10 of Smallville

Promorus shares his predictions on how Smallville could go on from Friday's season finale entitled, "Salvation."

Friday's season finale caused a lot of hype for both fans and new comers. Even most of the Smallville haters gave in good reviews about the episode. Episode Salvation gave numerous cliff hangers that would lead up to the future of Smallville.

Original Superman suit cliff hanger:

First let’s talk about the cliff hanger when Clark opened a present from his mom (Martha Kent) and we seen the red and blue Superman Suit we all know and love from the mythology in the reflection of his eyeball. Well a lot of people think he’s going to stall from using the suit until the final Season Finale at the last minute or second. Even though that sounds right because we are in the Smallville (not Superman) world, we could get enough of him in the suit in the 10th season. I think we'll get him in his costume either in the first episode or a few episodes later.
That scene was one of the cliff hangers and it wouldn't make since if they waited till the very end to show it. Like last season finale, they showed Clark’s new getup (without the "S" symbol) before he told Chloe that he was ending his life as Clark Kent. Then in the first episode of season 9 he had the same getup but with the S symbol.

2013 Dream Sequence or was it?

This was no doubt one of the best scenes in the episode. But it is a possibility that this isn’t any old fashioned dream sequence a person has because that’s what they want in life or meditate on it everyday. Some do not know this but Clark, like many Kryptonians, can see the future. On multiple occasions Clark has been shown to be able to see glimpses of the future. In episode Commencement of the 4th season, Clark has a dream in which red, yellow, and blue lights come together to form a meteor.
He is awakened by his parents, who say that Clark was yelling, "It's coming!" in his sleep. Meanwhile in outer space meteors start flying towards Earth. Jor-El was able to show Clark what his future would have been like, if his ship had not made it to Earth. While not technically precognition, it displays an ability to manipulate time and the future that goes well beyond precognition. Also, even though not possible, we might get a Metropolis show and the dream might be a nod to that if they ever get to. It could also be a cliff hanger that they won’t show in the future but you know that he will be Superman forever or something like that. Oh and do we have our actor for James Bartholomew Olsen? They wouldn't have showed him if they didn't have an actor for him. If they weren't using that actor then they would have never showed his face.

Lois figures out that The Blur is actually mild-mannered Clark Kent:

This was also an interesting cliff hanger for fans. Lois appears to have discovered the true identity of The Blur is Clark, almost exactly the same way Teri Hatcher's Lois finds out Superman is Clark in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In Lois &Clark, Clark holds Lois' right cheek, and this is exactly what Superman does later on in the very same episode, and at that moment Lois realizes he's Clark. In Smallville, the unique touch is on Lois' left shoulder. How Lois actually discovers the truth is through a very passionate kiss with The Blur that at the end she whispers Clark name in realization and amazement. So in season 10, she might go Chloe’s way and not tell him that she knows for a while. Maybe, like in Superman: Doomsday, he may keep denying that he is The Blur. It’s really hard to predict from this cliff hanger because there were so many different ways in the mythology that she found out. Lets just hope they won’t go the original Superman movie way and he super kisses her. Even though I hate that stupid kiss idea, I have to say something to the people who say, “Well when was this one of Superman’s powers?” Kryptonians have thousands and an unlimited source of powers. Superman just does the normal in some mythology:
Heat Vision
X-ray Vision
Super Breath
Super hearing
Etc.

The cliff hanger of “What has happened to Oliver?”

This cliff hanger involved Oliver being kidnapped by what they thought were Kandorian. They were not Kandorian because we hear Oliver say to Chloe that they are not Kandorian. My guess is that he gets a good look at them and notice the unusual look of them. From the numerous clues being given that Darkseid would be season 10’s villain, fans speculated that the kidnappers were Parademons. Or could they be Intergang?

Granny Goodness and possible Female Furies:

When Tess died there was a buff looking old lady sitting outside of her hospital room, knitting. This was the only scene where this old lady appeared. When the doctors leave, she goes in Tess’s room and shuts the door. Well some could be thinking how is Granny Goodness connected to Tess? Tess was part of a group called Check Mate and that group was connected to Apokolips (Darkseid’s home world). Well that group is no more and Tess was one of the survivors that didn’t get killed by Zod that day. Zod had murdered and destroyed the Check Mate organization. Since Tess is a survivor, but now currently dead, Granny will revive her so she might join the Intergang or Female Furies. Granny Goodness always picks one female from other races. Tess is from Earth and Grandma is reviving her. So we can predict that Tess will be trained as a Female Furie or is she already? This could also be a good time to get Kara back and a good story. Have her brainwashed and be apart of the Female Furies since she is a female of the Kryptonian race.

Finally, lastly the end Cliff Hanger:
Again, one of the best scenes Smallville could ever provide. This scene is when he finally defeated Zod and banished (a good banish) all the other Kryptonians to a new planet. It actually has been stated that the planet is "a" New Krypton. Not in Smallville but something close to Smallville. The series of Kara and the Chronicles of Krypton had the story about the Book of Rao. The book of Rao Prophesied that Krypton will live again on a new Krypton. A lot of evil Kryptonians tried to fulfill the prophesy to make earth New Krypton. Also these events happened on Smallville like when Zor-El wanted to repopulate the earth with his brother's wife, Laura-El. Even Jor-El tried to convince Clark to re-populate Earth with "Kara of Krypton", a Kryptonian vessel designed to lure Clark into training. It is unknown if Jor-El genuinely desired to re-populate Earth, or if he merely had "Kara" attempt to seduce Clark as a ploy to begin his training and unite the Stones of Power. I would sit here and explain of all the events with the prophesy but this isn't the article for that. So Zod and Clark had a beautiful, bloody battle. The battle wasn't long but it was sweet. Well when he tricked Zod to stabbing him with the blue Krptonite knife, Clark fell purposely off the edge to get out of range from Zod. The episode ended with Zod being sucked into the portal and Clark falling to his death. People predict he will be saved, may die, or might as well fly. I'm going with him flying because the saved thing has been done and how many times has he died in Smallville? The only way fans would like his death if it was caused by Doomsday. Maybe he will grab the knife out his stomach and right before he hits the surface he will fly. As stated by his father he still considers himself human, it could also be that before Clark can use this ability he needs to accept his destiny and be confident with this power as he has fear of heights which could be a reason why he can't do it just yet. All through that episode Clark has said he knows and accepts his destiny. And he also isn't afraid of heights anymore because he was comfortable doing because he has mimicked flying a few times, making super leaps from building to building, jumping up at great speed onto missiles and off from bridges.

Tell me if I missed any cliff hangers

100%....They should try and bring in characters such as The Question,etc....Im guessing that METALLO will reappear...Bizarro,Maxima...maybe? ...just wondering how wil Smallville be able to pull of the Parademons...and Darkseid..,and will they refer to Granny Goodness as Granny Goodness...sounds kinda campy...

You're right about a lot of things...

- This would be the perfect opportunity to bring back Kara but with Laura playing one of the lead roles on "V" it's not likely...
- I don't know how they are gonna rescue Oliver but it has occurred to me that Green Arrow has died and been resurrected in the comics. Seeing that this is supposed to be the last season, maybe that's how they'll end his storyline. By simply killing him off!
- Like you, I don't know which direction they'll go with the "Chlois" love factor.
- I was a bit more intrigued about the fact that Lex Luther was alive and well.

Finally, I'm dying to find out what a "Smallville expert" like you would think of the points I discuss in this article: The Future of Smallville!

@Blackreverend,
You have a point about Oliver. But he's not dead and there's proof. Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman, Callum Blue, and Justin Hartley are the only cast members from the previous season that are contracted for the tenth season. I dont know how thats going to work out and its hard to predict wats gonna happen to him other than they bring him to Darkseid. I love the article. I didnt even think of making spin offs of those characters. I would so much love a live action Aqua Man show. I used to watch the cartoon it on Adult swim. They picked someone perfect to play Aqua Man in Smallville. I can imagine him in an underground lair and talking to the fishes. That was a great article you made

We don't actually know if Oliver was kidnapped and he only said "they're not Kandorians" so we don't really don't know if he got a good look at them.

And no offense, but I think you use the term cliffhanger a little too loosely. The suit reveal and the dream sequence are not cliffhangers. Lois finding out about Clark is not really one either.

The Oliver sequence was definitely a cliffhanger and maybe even the Tess/Granny sequence.

But you forgot to mention the biggest cliffhanger of the finale, which was Clark falling off the building.

@zephyr,
You do have a point about the cliff hangers. I just did the things we will see in the future because of these scenes. Even tho we will see future things in Smallville because of these scenes, I got them mixed up as Cliff Hangers. It was suppose to start out as things we will see in the future of Smallville from what we seen so far that make since. I just kept constantly calling them cliff hangers because thats what I was thinking in my mind. I was just thinking about the end cliff hanger this morning but was too lazy to write. I will do it now tho cause I just started my morning by eating Cheerios and Fruity Pebbles after

@ Promorus - You're totally right about Hartley, i didn't even think of checking next years cast...

Aquaman is my favorite DC character, so I would love to see that spin off happen too. They tried one with Hartley, did you see that? I loved how they incorporated the Bermuda triangle into his mythology.

I'm kinda interested what you thought of the actual characters and plots I put out there. I'm really glad you loved my article, but I need to know why?

@ Zephyr - I'm not sure what's gonna happen to Clark. They could let hit the ground and be presumed dead! Then have him resurrected like in "Superman:Doomsday" Or they could allow someone to save him! John Jones? Hawkman? Supergirl? Any brand new character from Superman's mythology? Or he could fly for the first time? Your guess is as good as mine.

The end cliff hanger has been inserted and reread what I didnt put in the 2013 scene.

@GambitAceOfSpades,
Lol

@zephyr,
Dont forget Coco Pebbles, flosted flakes, and mothers recommend Lucky Charms, lol. A good question is why is the Coco Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles are the only cereal with the least amount of cereal in the box? They must know they are the hottest cereal and wawnt people to buy more. Thats not fair.

@Blackreverend,
I wasnt aware of that show starring Justin Hartley. But now that I look it up I hear ther was only the pilot episode which everyone loved. I know what im about to do today, lol. I liked your article because you did well with the pictures and did an awesome job explaining you ideas. Your ideas were brilliant also. Your article was neat and things have to be neat in order to be great. Thats how you pull people to read and listen to your ideas. Thats actually how people that hate Jehovah Witnesses go and try it out. Jehovah Witnesses are so damn clean they look like spirits, lol.

What about lex ? in clarks dream lois is seen reading the planet newspaper in 2013 and on the front cover it shows lex is runnig for president. with this and along with what Dr. fate told clark that his Fate is to face and defeat Lex Luthor in season 10 i think we will see lex return to smallville and along with darksied (possibly) clarks going to have his work cut out.

@Conman95,
I feel a recast for Lex going on and a story of why he looks different. In season 7 finale, when he nearly died and his whole body was disfigured, they might say he got surgery and it was 150% succesful. But he looks different and the surgery made him a bit loopy

I think jimmy olsen wil be different younger actor. She never refers to the assistant as Jimmy directly.

@biggpapa410,
Of course in the 2013 scene that was Jimmy Olsen. Who else could he be? one of The Olsen Twins? I think not. Besides in Mythology, when she commands Jimmy she calls him by his last name, olsen.

Could the old woman knitting be Martha? With technology and intel available to her as the Red Queen, could she be after whatever information Tess has in her brain to delete it?
And of course it's Jimmy Olson. (Somehow...)

@Epicenter,
No its not Martha. And why delete the memories if Tess is already dead? If it was Martha then why hide her face? Did you see how broad she was? Martha looks like a tooth pick if there was an Old Lady fight between them two. Unless Martha took the same stuff Bane did then its safe to assume that is not martha kent

@Promorus,
Given, yes if Tess stays dead. If she is the "Mercy" we know as Lex Luthor's right hand, though, there needs to be some sort of ressurection. (If she is that Mercy). If not, ya got me, we'll go with Granny Goodness.
Just playing Devil's Advocate.
Besides, old people get cold easy, so she's wearing lots of layers. ;)

@Epicenter,
She is already Mercy. There was two different types of her chaacter in the mythology. They both had different names. One was Mercy Graves and Eve Teschmacher (Valerie Perrine), gal pal of Lex Luthor in "Superman" (1978) and "Superman II." Her heart is changing and people love this side of her. It would be impossible to turn her back evil even if they tried. They already sh owed Tess working for Lex and now her character is evolving. The only reason why I say she could be part of the Female Furies because even tho Check Mate is destroyed that doesnt mean she's out of it. She even said even if she wanted to she couldnt get out of Check Mate. Its impossible even in death. I say that because she is dead now and she's still not out of it

Something tells me that the Martian Manhunter is really the one falling to the ground and will change back into himself and fly away just before impact. Or maybe he will save Clark before he hits the ground and then somehow his powers will be restored during the show if the Blue Kryptonite really takes a Kryptonians powers away.

I'm also not convinced that Amanda Waller is dead because in the JSA episode Chloe mentioned that there were supervillians that were released from prison and their criminal records erased.....the Suicide Squad would be a great way to start season 10 off!!
