When Thor wants to fly, we use a scientific principle. He has his hammer, he has a leather thong attached to his wrist, he swings the hammer around faster and faster, till it's going like a propeller and then he lets go of it. Well the hammer goes flying off into space. But the thong is wrapped around Thor's wrist, so he goes with it. So you have hammer propulsion and Superman who flies just because they tell you he flies."

Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber, December 28, 1922), is an American comic book writer, editor, publisher and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. Working with the likes of artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, and many other mainstays in the Marvel Universe. A young Lee transformed Marvel Comics from a small comic book division of a publishing house into a large multi-million dollar corporation. He was inducted into the comic book industry's Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995.
