BUMBLEBEE Squares Off With Blitzwing In An Action-Packed New Clip; Plus Cool New IMAX Poster

With a 93% Certified Fresh rating on review aggregator RottenTomatoes, Bumblebee is not only the best-reviewed film in the entire Transformers franchise, but it's also the best-reviewed film set to open this weekend, topping Disney's Mary Poppins Returns (78%), Warner Bros.' Aquaman (67%), STX's Second Act (44%), and Universal's Welcome to Marwen (15%), which should certainly bode well as it hopes to become one of the leggiest films through the winter season.

Early tracking is estimating a $26 million three-day weekend, which should result in a $40 million to $45 million five-day weekend once you factor in the Christmas holiday. While that's undoubtedly pacing behind its blockbuster predecessors, the five-day projections still promise a solid start for the Travis Knight-directed feature on its modest $135 million production budget.

Without spoiling too much,
Bumblebee  kicksoff with an extended prologue sequence that sees B-127 kick all sorts of ass on Cybertron before making his way to Earth where he promptly finds himself engaged in a deathmatch with the notorious Blitzwing (David Sobolov).

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Bumblebee features:
Director: Travis Knight
Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie Watson
John Cena as Agent Jack Burns
Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Memo
John Ortiz as Dr. Powell
Jason Drucker as Otis Watson
Pamela Adlon as Sally Watson
Rory Markham as Jake Adams
Rachel Crow as Celia
Abby Quinn as Alice
Gracie Dzienny as Tina
Ricardo Hoyos as Trip
Kenneth Choi as Ken
Stephen Schneider as Ron
Len Cariou as Hank
Dylan O'Brien as Bumblebee
Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime
Grey Griffin as Arcee
Steve Blum as Wheeljack
Andrew Morgado as Cliffjumper
Kirk Baily as Brawn
Dennis Singletary as Ratchet
Angela Bassett as Shatter
Justin Theroux as Dropkick
David Sobolov as Blitzwing

Bumblebee hits theaters December 21

I enjoyed this film. Much better than Bayformers 3-5.

I actually enjoyed the first 2 Bayformers films for what they were.

Action you can follow? Are we sure this is a Transformers film?

I really like not only how clean the scene is, but also how it emphazises the size difference between the two. Blitzwing is so large that Bee can actually climb on his back and give him the Shadow of the Colossus special.

Saw it 2 days ago.

I actually really liked it! It has heart, is entertaining and the action scenes are clear enough and superb. Charlie is also a great lead and such a likable character. The G1 designs actually work - the stuff on Cybertron is amazing.

The whole movie is miles above the last 4 TF films.

Funny how when you remove Bay, you can immediately not only get a good film, but a good TF film with a good RT score.

I just realized watching Fallon (who I hate), that Hailee Steinfeld has the hottest legs on the planet. Watch this and thank me later.
