Well, this should make old-school Transformers fans very happy indeed.

Paramount has released a couple of brief teasers for tomorrow's new Bumblebee trailer, and one of 'em features an all-new version of fan-favorite Decepticon Soundwave and his canine Mini-Con Ravage. Soundwave did previously appear in the Michael Bay movies but he looked nothing like the classic animated series take on the character at all.

AQUAMAN, BUMBLEBEE & 3 Other Movies Are Set For A December 21 Release - Which One Will Reign Supreme?

The other clip features 'Bee and his new human pal (Hailee Steinfeld) failing at hide and seek.

Check out the footage below, and be sure to check back tomorrow for the full trailer. Bumblebee is set to hit theaters on December 21.

I liked the first three movies, but this franchise needs to give it a rest.

Holy hell, that's what I'm talking about. I'm having flashbacks to 1984 with those designs. It's about time. Fingers crossed the convulatedness of the Bayformers is out of the door and we get what we should have had from the get go.

@Philvis - Those Bay movies were the childhood of so many. In the same way the 80's cartoon were your childhood.

Now we can watch the next generation of TF's and know that it will be the childhood of many more.

@CheepTricks - the 1st film was pretty good. Biggest issue were the character designs. Had a hard time telling who was who. The character designs never improved and the stories just became junk. They had a plethora of classic characters to use and Bay insisted on making new ones. Each movie became a bigger failure. I'm stll trying to figure out how they got Anthony Hopkins for the last one.

I hear you though.

@Philvis - I appreciate that. To me, the third, fourth and fifth one is when I started to lose interest. Its around then I became a bigger fan of the War For Cyber-tron games (amazing characters, story and designs haha).

I think every film tells a story. From good to bad. Some films speak more to others. It's hard to put into words what that may mean, you'd have to look at a single persons whole life to understand what that means.

I suppose the beautiful thing about a movie is that, no matter what we see in it, the art provides a feeling that extends to every person who ever saw it.

As for anthony Hopkins....

Man's got to get PAID! xDD

So they are showing they can do the original character designs but instead are going with the hot garbage designs they went with? Well only thing to say is what I always say to these movies, [frick] the Bayformers.

G1 Soundwave?! I haven't watched that much of G1 TRANSFORMERS but seeing him in his full glory is making me blush harder than I thought.

Can we just get Travis Knight to direct future TRANSFORMERS flicks with the writers of PRIME attached?

CLASSIC OPTIMUS PRIME DESIGN!

Everything Michael Bay did is forgiven!

@IronMandarin - These designs look great but no, everything Bay did is NOT forgiven. Especially since this is not Bay’s movie.

They're just gonna pretend this doesn't take place in the Bayverse will they?

@MultiMedia996 - Official word as of now is that this is the same universe as the Micheal Bay films.

eagc1995
eagc1995 - 9/23/2018, 10:13 AM
@NinnesMBC - They did described it as a some sort of reboot, but they said the same thing about Age of Extinction and it was still the same universe.

Also lets remember this movie was pitched alongside The Last Knight as part of the Bayformers Cinematic Universe alongside the 6th main film (if it happens) and a prequel set in Cybertron.

I mean its like with the DCEU, Justice League underperformed, but the other DCEU films were already in development thus they couldn't retool Aquaman and Shazam to be part of a new universe.

Granted who knows, they may had changed some stuff during reshoots for this film, but as of now its still part of the world Bay created, but we will find out this December for sure

Prime’s look Contradicts the first film but what else is new haha. Looks cool!
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 9/23/2018, 9:24 AM
@newhire13 - It doesnt, since this is his Cybertronian form, in the first film we saw his earth form, unless you are speaking of his protoform form, which is pretty much a Transformer looks liek without his vehicle parts
newhire13
newhire13 - 9/23/2018, 11:42 AM
@eagc1995 - It definitely does. His protoform in Transformers was a regular robot and then he gets his truck look while this form is a red robot that clearly looks like he has truck parts.
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 9/23/2018, 6:52 PM
@newhire13 - It doesnt, again in most iteration of Transformers the protoform mode is basically a Transformer stripped naked of his vehicle parts, so Optimus and the others had to revert to their protoform modes in order to head to earth, thus losing his vehicle parts from Cybertron.

The Optimus we see here is basically how he looked before he had to revert to his protoform form in order to head back to Earth.
BlackConvoy
BlackConvoy - 9/24/2018, 2:57 AM
@eagc1995 - It still contradicts. Everything they've shown of the Cybertronians, either on Earth or on Cybertron, in the movies or prequel comics, all have that same alien look. And this is before reverting to the protoform mode. Even Optimus Prime. Ravage and Soundwave even looks totally different.
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 9/24/2018, 8:55 AM
@BlackConvoy - We've only seen the Cybertronian forms of The Fallen, Megatron, Sentinel Prime Ravage, Soundwave and Shockwave, the rest were simply random Decepticons/Autobots protoforms (mostly to avoid creating new models for characters that are just there to be killed), we've havent seen how Optimus and co looked in Cybertron outside of their protoform forms.

Its still doesnt contradict anything, because you could just say they simply upgraded to new forms, even in the IDW movie canon, Shockwave had a G1 look before upgrading to his Dark of the Moon form in the comic adaptation of the third film. Talknig of the comics, The Last Kngiht pretty much rendered them non-canon, so we cant really rely on the comics when talking about Optimus and co Cybertronian forms.

Now what would contradict the previous films is if we see Megatron frozen and he's in his G1 form.
BlackConvoy
BlackConvoy - 9/25/2018, 5:14 AM
@eagc1995 - Shockwave had the G1 "look." He didn't look G1 faithful as he does in this trailer. It was the G1 look but with the Michael Bay jaggy alien look. This looks more like War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games. At the most it's a soft reboot. I'll even go so far to say that it's not just a contradiction, it's a straight up FU. John Cena pun intended.

I loved the first movie when it camera out but everything since has been utter trash. I skipped the last 2 in theaters and I will be skipping this as well, maybe if it hits Netflix I’ll watch it when scraping the bottom of my queue

This 15 second clip is better than anything from the 5 Michael Bay Transformers movies

Amazing what can happen when you have a director who gives a shit about the material & his craft & it’s a garbage piece of trash

This movie might be bad but man they finally made the Transformers designs simple and really good looking.
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 9/23/2018, 9:14 AM
@CuddlyCereal - I don’t think the film will be bad. I say that’s recently watching Kubo which is Travis Knight’s first & only film & it is one of the best stop motion animated films I’ve ever seen. Knight owns Laika which is one of the best stop motion animated studios which also produced Coraline & other films

Okay how long ago was the war?

Seriously the first movie made it seem like centuries ago but then it's still raging........

Bumblebee acts like a kid/teen yet he's centuries old.

If this movie just said the other films weren't in the same continuity and the war started in the 1970's, I'd be fine with that.
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 9/23/2018, 9:25 AM
@storyteller - The Cybertronian war as been going on for centuries in the most iterations of Transformers, same with the movie universe.

And Bee has alwasy been like a teen/child in most versions of Transformers despite also being centuries old
