So I saw Transformers: Age of Extinction last night and I gotta tell ya, Im so disappointed because I cant really trash the movie as much as I was hoping to but I'll still be able to slam this film quite a bit so dont fret, my loyal readers, for there is some negativity coming your way about this one along with a few surprisingly good things about it! Yeah I cant believe Im saying that either, but I assure you, what Im saying is true! Now as the dudes from Monty Python say "GET ON WITH IT!" That I shall! Lets start with the human aspect of this, Mark Wahlberg is actually pretty good in this movie and while getting the most development out of any human character, he also makes you care about his character! His daughter, ehhh not so much....Aside from her being in Bates Motel which she was awesome in, she should had been recast in this one, you could pretty much could careless about her character! As for the boyfriend and the other friend they had who worked with Mark Wahlberg's character in the barn, they both were absolutely pointless characters and had really no reason at all for being in the film...Another thing that really ticked me off about this movie is that some of the humans turn against the Autobots after the Autobots save the planet for three movies and this is the thanks they get?!?!?!? I hated that about this film....plus there was a huge amount of cheesy dialogue and I mean HUGE!!!!! Now lets go over to the Transformers side of it! The Dinobots were awesome, just three problems with that, the movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes and the screentime that the DInobots get is 20-25 minutes of the movie! The second thing is, the Dinobots are so heavily promoted for this movie since you see them in all trailers, all TV spots and almost all the posters and cardboard standees that it makes you think that they are in there for so much more of the film, but sadly, that is not the case! And third, when they are there, nobody in the film even calls them by their actual name "Dinobots" so its just like they are there just cause....And yeah to bring up the 2 hours and 45 minutes, that is wayyyyyy too long for a Transformers movie along with the previews makes it 3 hours and 5 minutes! A half hour of the movie could had easily been cut out for sure! The main villain of the movie Lockdown was pretty awesome and his ship looked pretty sweet too! Optimus Prime got some more development, but he's already fully developed that you cant really develop him much more! Bumblebee, the problem with him is that he doesnt talk on his own, he still uses the radio so he doesnt have a personality yet which is a concern and I hope they dont keep continuing that issue! There were a few new Transformers brought into the film, Samurai ones and they had a great personality and looked awesome! The CGI wasnt all great, too many explosions as usual and the comedy from both ends wasnt funny but at least it wasnt any sexual humor like the 1st 3 movies so I'll give them credit for that! I hope for the 5th movie in 2016 that they do something different, preferably not on Earth cause for the past 4 movies now, you have Earth getting destroyed somewhere and the Autobots save the planet, how many times can you really do that, not much because it'll get old and stale after a while and people will be like "Been there, done that, give us something different that we havent seen before!" Oh also, thank God they didnt use Linkin Park as part of the soundtrack in this movie again!!!! Granted I love the band, but use different bands than Linkin Park and Im glad they did FINALLY!!!!! And the ending brings a big surprise which people may just be happy about when they see that part! Overall this is a passable film at best, nothing more, nothing less! I hope my review has helped you all on deciding on whether to see this film or not! I give it a 5 out of 10.
