Transfomers Takes Top Box Office Spot

Transformers takes in an estimated $67.6 million topping the box office for the July 6 weekend.

According to the Associated Press Transformers has grossed $152.5 million since it's open with preview screenings on July 2. This could be the biggest first weekend revenue for a non-sequel film, even topping Spider-Man during it's first week. (Taking into account the higher ticket prices Spider-Man took in 26.1 Million compared to the 22.5 Million for Transformers.)

In 23 other countries Transformers took in $93.6 million since opening June 28.

Ratatouille took the second spot with $29 million, totaling to $109.5 million.
