Transformers 3 Going Back in Time?

Is Michael Bay making time travel a major plot point for his final outing?

Hey guys, its me again! I haven't posted up any scoops in a while but when I read this, it had to be be posted. Now on to business!

We all have our opinions about the Transformers film series, mostly negative. The majority of that angst is directed at Revenge of the Fallen which apparently suffered from a lack of quality that was so inspiring in the first installment. If Mr. Bay hopes to salvage anything (critic wise if you were wondering) he's going to have to pull out ALL the stops for this movie. Like he's ever held back once!

Over at Tformers.com, it has been reported that production is moving on from the Chicago and Indiana shoots to do some filming up in Detroit. Shooting will be taking place at the old Packard Plant.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

"In addition, Sillypuddy posted on Director Michael Bay's official message board Shoot For the Edit that an extra contacted him to let him know that she will be part of a scene that is supposed to take place in the 1960s.

'She got the phone call this evening, that she needs to arrive by 9am for fitting into her costume for the days shooting,' Sillypuddy writes. 'All she was told was that the scenes were from the '60s and she would be fitted into clothing from that era.'

As always, this is a grapevine type rumor, so please take it with a bit of salt.

Filming is expected to last between two to three weeks where they will then move onto Space Coast, FL, tentatively slated to begin on September 19th and run through October 5th."

Does this mean that the Transformers 3 Script that was reviewed by me a while back may bear more truth than initially believed? For some reason I can't post the link, but just go over to my Fansite, Poolzone, to check it out!

As always, take this with a grain of salt, and we can see if any of this true on July 1st of next year!

Remember that Bay said that the Space Race between U.S and Russia plays a good part in the film's story so I think those 60's scene are flashbacks.

as much as that sounds plausible, i am also considering the time travel aspect of the film. also found over at Tformers were a few picks of the non-"twins" and a Datsun PL150 which has been rumored to be Bumblebee's downgrade in the third movie.

i looked it up, Datsun was an auto company in the '30s and bought out by Nissan. the actual company ceased to exist in 1985. now, its entirely possible that someone still drives a Datsun. but, it is also plausible that more people drove them back in the sixties. of course, i cannot find if the PL150 was around in the sixties.
and then maybe Bumblebee was on earth in the sixties doing recon work for Prime. i don't know.
thanks for reminding me of that little space race detail btw!

if i had to guess, i would say flashback. and unless that datsun is bumblebee in the 60's i dont think it will be him. i thought they released a pic of the new camaro, and said that it would be Bumblebee

@ckal
in the script that i reviewed, the Transformers accidently went back to the eighties. and then they had to adopt modes that were fitted for that timeline and didn't stand out.
Prime turned into the flat nosed truck that we all know and love and even Starscream traded his F-22 for the F-15.
what i loved most was that Starscream actually killed Megatron. but when they went back, we were reintroduced to the Megs from the first film.
again, that script was debunked and doubt that it would actually happen. but the script came out when Bay and Spielberg were still discussing the story, so maybe they borrowed a few elements. instead of time travel, its a flashback. and instead of the eighties, its the sixties.
as long as this film is as good as T1, i'll be happy.

@Wadey09
That's a 1972 Datsun 510, so it couldn't have been around in the 60's. Besides, this pic shows that it's not being used in a flashback since Shia, Rosie, and Patrick are all in the same scene with it.

There's a lot of speculation going on that the Decepticons will have the upper hand in this movie, so Bumblebee could have rescanned into a Datsun to hide.
