Prime Video has debuted the official trailer for Citadel, their upcoming spy thriller series which hails from the minds of Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.

The highly ambitious new series, which has already been greenlit for a second season and is simultaneously filming a pair of spinoffs set in India and Italy, stars Richard Madden (EternalsGame of Thrones) and Priyanka Chopra (Don - The Chase Begins Again; Don 2) in the lead roles as a pair of memory-erased spies.

Madden and Chopra play Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, respectively, two former Citadel agents - and lovers - that had their memories wiped following the agency's fall eight year prior to the beginning of the show. When the same threat resurfaces, the pair are unlocked and thrust right back into the thick of the action, where they must track down the initial traitor before the world falls apart.

The Russo Brothers serve as executive producers and it's believed they also directed a few episodes, with Hunters creator David Weil onboard as showrunner.

In addition to Madden and Chopra, the supporting cast consists of Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick, Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Roland Møller as Anders Silje and Davik Silje, and Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy.

Citadel starts streaming on April 28.

Check out the new trailer below:

Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency—tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people—was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts.

Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.

What's wrong with the color grading of this show? It looks like doodoo.

Chopra's luscious body would be so much more enthralling if the image wasn't spoiled by that Jonas a$$hat.

Amazing the Russos can do all this for Amazon Prime before it launches yet back in the day Amazon couldn't find a show to greenlight. This doesn't look very original but I don't want to hate on this.

Between this and the literal billions spent on Rings of Power, I guess Amazon has enough money from their other ventures to do whatever the [frick] they want streaming.

@JuanRGuijarro - you’d know it’s a tv series if you learned how to read
