Well, it looks like we can close the door on a potential third Jack Reacher movie as multiple sources are now reporting that Amazon Prime Video has won the rights to develop a television series based on the titular hero from Lee Child's hit crime/thriller novels.
Nick Santora, who created the CBS action/drama series </SCORPION>, has been tapped as showrunner. He'll also write and executive produce the series. Lee Child, Don Granger and Christopher McQuarrie will also serve as executive producers alongside Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross; and Amazon's Carolyn Harris.
The novel series, which has published twenty-three books since 1997, has sold over 100 million copies to date and was most recently adapted into a pair of hit films - Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back - starring 3x Academy Award-nominee and 3x Golden Globe-winner Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible - Fallout).
This is the latest high profile collaboration between Amazon Prime Video, Paramount Television and Skydance Television; joining Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, which stars John Krasinski (A Quiet Place) in the title role and was recently renewed for a third season ahead of its second season premiere later this summer.
