Amazon Studios has released the official trailer and first look stills from Reacher, the highly anticipated series adaptation of Lee Child's long-running Jack Reacher novels, which will start streaming its entire eight-episode first season on February 4, 2022.

Alan Ritchson (Smallville; Titans; Blue Mountain State), who stands at 6-feet 2-inches, will step into the titular role of the imposing six-foot-five 250-pound former army major. He takes over the part from 3x Academy Award-nominee Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible 7Top Gun: Maverick), who starred in the 2012 film, Jack Reacher, and its 2016 sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

The freshman season will adapt Child's debut Reacher novel, Killing Floor, with Primetime Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (Prison BreakScorpionPunisher: War Zone) serving as showrunner and executive producer.

Joining Ritchson for this adventure are Malcolm Goodwin (iZombie) as Oscar Finlay, Willa Fitzgerald (The Goldfinch) as Roscoe Conklin, Chris Webster (Most Dangerous Game) as KJ, Hugh Thompson (Blessed Stranger: After Flight 111) as Baker, Maria Sten (Swamp Thing) as Frances Neagley, Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) as Jasper, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) as Charlie, Currie Graham (Murder in the First) as Kliner Sr., Marc Bendavid (Dark Matter) as Hubble, Willie C. Carpenter (Devious Maids) as Mosley, Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) as Young Reacher, and Bruce McGill (My Cousin Vinny) as Mayor Teale.

Reacher follows Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.

Good trailer, looks very true to the character.

The original Cruise movie was good, but the sequel was pretty crappy.

It feels like everything these days are sequels or remakes. Maybe we have lost our imaginations.

Never read the books, but looks like a nice throwback to 70s action films, getting Walking Tall vibes. Ritchson definitely has the size going for him.

That actually looks imressively good, AR is a good fit for Reacher kinda of how Kransinki was a great casting choice for Jack Ryan, very true to the source material.

Back when Blue Mountain State was a thing, I really wanted Ritchson to be Deadpool. The guy’s got wonderful comedic ability that’s not shown enough. Same with Robert Sheehan. Misfits and more recently Umbrella Academy and nothing else. Put them both in a film together.

So if fans are content with demanding a 6ft+ Jack Reacher, can we please get a -5'10 Wolverine?
