Reacher season two is now in production!
Prime Video and leading man Alan Ritchson (Titans; Blue Mountain State) have confirmed filming has commenced on the new season, which will be based on the eleventh novel in Lee Child's bestselling Jack Reacher series, Bad Luck and Trouble. No spoilers, but if you're familiar with the book they're adapting, the new season should be much bigger than the first.
The book's synopsis reads, "From a helicopter high above the California desert, a man is sent free-falling into the night. On the streets of Portland, Jack Reacher is pulled out of his wandering life and plunged into the heart of a conspiracy that is killing old friends . . . and the people he once trusted with his life.
Reacher is the ultimate loner—no phone, no ties, no address. But a woman from his old military unit has found him using a signal only the eight members of their elite team would know. Then she tells him a terrifying story about the brutal death of a man they both served with. Soon Reacher is reuniting with the survivors of his team, scrambling to unravel the sudden disappearance of two other comrades. But Reacher won’t give up—because in a world of bad luck and trouble, when someone targets Jack Reacher and his team, they’d better be ready for what comes right back at them."
Considering Reacher's lone wolf status, the show will essentially be an anthology moving forward, with a new cast every season, save for Ritchson and co-star Maria Sten, who will also reprise her role as Frances Neagley, one of Reacher's most trusted confidantes.
Joining Ritchson and Sten for season two, in series regular roles, are Shaun Sipos (Krypton; The Vampire Diaries) as David O'Donnell, Serinda Swan (Smallville; Coroner) as Karla Dixon, Ferdinand Kingsley (The Sandman; Mank) as A.M., and Rory Cochrane (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty; Black Mass) as Shane Langston.
Guest stars will include Domenick Lombardozzi (Magnum P.I.) as Guy Russo, Luke Bilyk (DeGrassi: The Next Generation) as Calvin Franz, Dean McKenzie (Shooter) as Stan Lowery, Edsson Morales (Black Summer) as Manuel Orozco, Andres Collantes (Two Sentence Horror Stories) as Jorge Sanchez, Shannon Kook-Chun (The 100) as Tony Swan, Ty Victor Olsson (Supernatural) as Saropian, Josh Blacker (See) as Hortense Fields, and Al Sapienza (Coroner) as Marsh.
