AMC has announced today that Preacher will return for its ten-episode third season on Sunday, June 24 at 10 p.m. EST.

The new season will pick up shortly after the events of season two with Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) arriving with Tulip's (Ruth Negga) corpse at the one place Jesse swore he'd never return
to. However, with his options limited, he didn't really have many other options outside of returning to Angelville to seek out the help of his twisted Gran'ma (Betty Buckley).

The network has also released three first look images, giving us our first look at Jesse's return, Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) in action, and a resurrected Tulip?! Check them out below:

Preacher is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse embarks on a journey to, literally, find God, joined by his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Preacher features:
Dominic Cooper as Jesse Cooper
Ruth Negga as Tulip O'Hare
Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy
Ian Colletti as Eugene Root/Arseface
Graham McTavish as The Saint of Killers
Pip Torrens as Herr Starr
Julie Ann Emery as Lara Featherstone
Malcolm Barrett as Hoover
Betty Buckley as Gran'ma
Colin Cunningham as TC

I watched the first few episodes of season 2 and really enjoyed it. Heard it went downhill after that, though.

@AbidNaga - The first couple episodes and a couple towards the end are pretty good. The finale was one of the worst of any show i've seen.

Should I come back to this show? I liked season 1 okay, but I never started season 2 because I heard there was a drop-off in quality of writing.

@L0RDbuckethead - Well if there was a drop I sure as hell didn't notice

@SupermansTrunks - Good to hear. I'll try and catch up before S03 comes around. I really like Dominic Cooper and the cast - I just wasn't too engaged in season 1 and found myself struggling to finish it.

Miss Jesse and the gang!!! Can't wait for this show to come back, so slick and intelligent, funny as hell and I love every time Tulip says "Jyessee"

So glad I have great shows lined up until the summer!

Anyone watching Barry with Bill Hader?? It's so funny and I may be late but I think it takes a bit of a parody of Dexter.
