WATCHMEN's Jackie Earle Haley Joins PREACHER WATCHMEN's Jackie Earle Haley Joins PREACHER

AMC's small screen adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's controversial comic series has added Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children, Robocop, Watchmen) as one of the most loathsome characters in comic book history: Odin Quincannon.

When Elizabeth Perkins joined the cast of Preacher as a character named Vyla Quinncannon, we thought the vile Odin Quincannon from the comics must have been gender-swapped -  but it seems that's not the case as THR reports that the awesome Jackie Earle Haley has booked a six-episode arc as the notorious villain.

This take on Quincannon is described as "a small, decrepit man with the unscrupulous iron will necessary to be the most powerful man in Annville County, Texas. The chief employer in town, Odin runs Quincannon Meat & Power, a 125-year-old family run cattle slaughterhouse business." Sounds about right - though fans of the comic will be all-too aware that he's also a KKK member, and is fond of having sex with a giant meat-woman. Yeah, seriously.

It remains to be seen if we'll get that visual on the show (that's one element I actually hope they disregard), which is set to premiere at the upcoming SXSW Film Festival. Preacher also stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip, and Joe Gilgun as Cassidy.

Out of all the shows DC is putting, thois is the show I am looking forward to. I rapidly loosing interest in Arrowverse, and this is a good replacement for it. And with addition of Jackie Earle Haley, I can't wait for this show.

What a great choice. What a ridiculous character too.

Really cant wait for this show. Unlike most people I will reserve my judgement for when it releases.

JediPhilospher: You are spot on, it was a pretty disturbing part in the comic haha but this guy was a good villain and it was definitely one of the best arcs of the entire 9 trade paperback books, or however many there were. "Salvation" was the name of the tpb and it was one of my favorites from the entire series

I think this is going to be a good series. I am however worried that this guy didnt appear til much later in the series and it seems he will be a big bad for the first season. Hoping this works out because it could be an amazing series

The good news is its already better than the walking dead haha

@magni

No they havent, which is actually what worries me a bit. I expected to hear about him for awhile. Unless they are trying to find the right person. Very important character so I hope they cast someone really awesome.
I also agree, this cast is really looking awesome

I wonder when this show will premier
