Last year, The CW further ventured into the realm of comic book adaptations with the launch of one of their latest series, iZombie, which is loosely based on the DC Comics series of the same name. The series focuses on Liv Moore, a medical resident in the city of Seattle, who gets turned into a zombie while attending a boat party. Long story short, she gets a job at the Central Morgue, tells her boss that she's a zombie, and he encourages her to eat the brains of murder victims, as this gives her access to flashbacks of the victim, which allows her to help the Seattle Police discover the true nature of the murders (she passes off as a psychic consultant). The first season was met with critical acclaim, and thus, it was renewed for a second season. And now, the trailer for that season has dropped.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, showrunner Rob Thomas had this to say about the upcoming season (light SPOILERS for anyone who hasn't seen the series finale):

"We kind of say what the big storyline of Season Two will be in the finale of Season One. There's a moment with Vaughn Du Clark, the head of Max Rager, says to his right-hand scientist, 'You worry about creating Super Max, I'm going to eliminate all of the Seattle zombies.' If zombies were the aggressors in Season One, they're put a little bit more on the defensive side and it will make very strange bedfellows of Liv and Blaine in Season Two. Getting those two in scenes together, which was tough in Season One, will be much easier in Season Two".

In relation to The CW's other hit comic book adaptations, the release of this trailer quite possibly means that fans can expect to see a trailer for The Flash and Arrow to drop very soon, as the show airs immediately after the premiere of the first of episode of The Flash's second season, and the day before the premiere of Arrow's fourth season.

What do you guys think? Are you a fan of iZombie? Has this trailer got you excited for the series' next season? Be sure to let me know in the comments section below, and don't forget to share and hit that thumbs up!

The second season of iZombie airs October 6, on The CW.

I was pleasantly surprised how great the first season was. I am happy I was wrong about it being bad. Because it was a fun show.

@JamesMann @BlackIceJoe

Yeah, it definitely exceeded my expectations too!
Quite excited for this season, but right now, I really just want The CW to release a Flash season 2 and Arrow season 4 trailer already!

During the first 1-3 episodes I was pretty much convinced it just wasn't for me at all. Didn't care for any of the characters or the "brain of the week" format.

But I gave the show another try when S1 was finished, and I came to really like it. Especially Major managed to pull off an impressive "Ward", which means going from being one of my least favourite characters whom I deemed super-boring to being one of my absolute favourites of the show. :D
