New VIXEN Promo Image Provides Our First Look At 'The Flash'

Arrow's Marc Guggenheim heads up a new animated web series for The CW Seed, focusing on DC Comics heroine Mari McCabe aka Vixen. Megalyn Echikunwoke will voice McCabe and portray her on any of the live-action CW shows, should McCabe crossover. Arrow's Stephen Amell and The Flash's Grant Gustin are both voicing their characters for the web series. James Tucker, of DC animated film fame, is directing. Guggenheim previously confirmed that Vixen takes place around S03E15/S03E16 of Arrow.


The web series will consist of six webisodes, totaling for a runtime of 30 minutes. It's an origin story, set in Detroit, MI. Vixen will premiere on August 25th on CW Seed.

Love the idea of short animated web-series being in the CWDCU. Hopefully characters like the Atom, Hawkman/Hawkgirl, Constantine, Swamp Thing, Doctor Fate, etc. get their own animated shows.

Hmm, if this is suppose to be current, they messed up. Flashs emblem has the white now. No longer red.

Well Arrow is certainly not using the new suit unless that's going to change(might change in story).

So were they told not to use the CW design. So far this is the 3rd version of the suit. The 1st one took some liberties with the design. The second one looked far closer to the one on the show. This one backtracks.

Already seen him in the trailer...
but yeah, looks cool. Just wish this series was longer, need another quality animated show amongst all the shit.

Does anyone know if it's going to be one episode per week or like a Netflix thing where all of the episodes come out on the 25th?

And Flash's gloves look better in animation...I hate the way the gloves look on the series.

Continuity-wise, Guggenheim said Vixen's time frame is directly after 3x16 of Arrow. And now we'll wait and see if the timeline makes sense because Arrow and Flash may just appear in one episode and then we see the rest of the Vixen series in Detroit.

Still wondering why Vixen? Such a random hero I haven't even thought about in years... I'd prefer Cyborg. That'd be sick!
