A few days ago, a report from That Hashtag Show claimed James Wan (Aquaman) would co-direct the pilot for the live-action Swamp Thing series alongside Deran Sarafian (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). However, a new report has surfaced, and it suggests this won't be the case.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, “James Wan will unequivocally NOT be directing Swamp Thing,” though they don’t address whether Sarafian is still involved with the pilot episode.

While this news - if accurate - will surely disappoint some, James Wan will still be serving as a producer on the DC Universe show. In fact, the site stresses Wan’s role calling him “a full-fledge creative producer,” who will help develop everything from the show’s visual style to its characters and story.

So, if this report proves true, will you be disappointed? To share your thoughts, comment below.

Is Swamp Thing still a thing? I mean, was he ever cool?

And yes, I was reading comics when there were Swamp THing comics, for some reason. And the movies. And the tv show. But God knows why

@noahthegrand - I'm not going to, but I'll take your word. So there IS some good stuff out there for him

@Pathogen - Alan Moore is all you need to know to realize that he has had at least one good run. Len Wein certainly wrote some good stuff in Swamp Thing’s early days, but Bernie Wrightson’s art makes those ‘70’s stories very well worth reading.

Maybe he can direct the Season finale then.

Well damn. I guess that makes sense though because Aquaman is a pretty massive undertaking so that should have most of his attention at the moment.

But I would love to see him at least direct one episode.

Let him worry about one franchise at a time.

Remember when people were trying to get Jon Favueru to do Ironman 2,Captain America, AND Avengers?

And are already doing the same with making the Russo's helm Civil War AND two big Infinity War movies, they were lucky they were respective continuations.

Let the artist breath ya know.
