SWAMP THING Adds STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON Actress Maria Sten As Liz Tremayne
Following the news that Abby Arcane has been cast for DC Universe's Swamp Thing, the show has added another key supporting player in Liz Tremayne, who'll be played by Maria Sten (Straight Outta Compton)...
Last night, we got our first bit of casting news for the upcoming DC Universe Swamp Thing series with Crystal Reed (Gotham, Teen Wolf) signing on to play the female lead role of Abigail Arcane. Now, Deadline reports that the show has also added a key supporting character.
Maria Sten (Channel Zero, Straight Outta Compton) has been cast in the recurring role of Liz Tremayne, who was a journalist and a well known hostess of a TV tabloid news program who investigated the deaths of Alec and Linda Holland in the comics.
For the purposes of the show, Liz has been re-imagined as the no-nonsense "childhood friend of Abby Arcane’s, who splits her time between reporting for the local paper and bartending at her aging father’s roadhouse bar."
Swamp Thing is being developed as a one-hour show, and has Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) and Gary Dauberman (It) on board to write the pilot. They'll also executive produce alongside Michael Clear and James Wan. Len Wiseman will helm the first episode.
