Way back in 2013, Young Justice stopped airing on Cartoon Network leaving a number of unresolved plot threads which have infuriated fans of the animated series ever since. After years of campaigning to bring the show back, DC Entertainment listened and season three - Young Justice: Outsiders - will debut on the DC Universe streaming app on January 4th.

According to the press release, "Young Justice: Outsiders continues the story with our heroes still dealing with the events of season 2 while facing the new threat of metahuman teen trafficking and the intergalactic arms race for control of these super-powered youths."

Sounds pretty good, right?

It's said that the fan-favourite series will also feature brand new characters as well as some familiar faces making their return, and this new trailer drops some huge hints about what exactly to expect.

We'll let you guys check that out below but be sure to stay tuned for more Young Justice updates.

Now if only we could get Green Lantern TAS back, who's with me!

@polarkyle - YES! That and Young Justice were the only cartoons I was super upset with them cancelling (sorry Teen Titans). Green Lantern TAS is really underhyped, it was a good show.

Been waiting along time for this! But they said it starts when Titans ends, and I don't want Titans to ever end.

I still think it'll be good, but I was kind of hoping they would go with a Darkseid story straight up, like they teased at the end of season 2. Also, some of the character designs are straight up from the direct to dvd DC movies, all the while the animation looking as though it took a downgrade, which has me worried. I have faith, nonetheless, because the storytelling is really good, but I'm scared this won't be the ideal continuation we wanted.

I like the usage of the animated character designs. It sort of ties the animated universe together

@Darkknight23 - I really don't like it. Seeing that Wonder Woman design in the trailer... just no. The new animated movies and this should be kept completely seperated.

@Kyos - somebody else pointed out the inaccuracies of my shared animated universe theory. You’re right the new batch of films have been iffy. For the sake of continuity I thought it would be cool

@Darkknight23 - If I liked the animated movies I'd be all for a connection. It'd indeed be cool to have a(nother) big connected animated DC universe (after the DCAU). It's just that the in-contiunuity JL&Co animated movies didn't do anywhere near enough for to want them to be part of such a universe.

@Kyos - you’re right! Given how connect the DCAU was, the new movies isn’t as cohesive.
