AMC's hit-television series,
The Walking Dead, had almost 16 million viewers for their season four finale, but show only received two Emmy nominations:
“Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role” and “
Outstanding Sound Editing.”
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. got off to a hot start in the ratings for ABC, but the show saw its viewership decline week after week until it finally platued. This year, the first-year series earned one Emmy nomination: “
Outstanding Special and Visual Effects.”
The big winner was HBO's
Game of Thrones, which earned 19 Emmy nominations. That's the most nominations any show received for the 66th Primetime Emmy's. For comparison: "Fargo" received 18 nominatons, and "American Horror Story: Coven," received 17 nominations.
