We're getting ever closer to the Season Two premiere of Game of Thrones and as you can tell from the brief footage and interviews above, it looks like Season Two could give Season One a run for it's money in the epic department. Of course, I may this judgement as a reader of the novels so I have a good idea of where Season Two takes us, and as long as HBO stays the course, I can assure you that we should be in for one incredibly wild ride. There are a ton of seemingly minor nuances from Season One that will have a tremendous impact in Season Two so I highly recommend rewatching Season One in it's entirety.

Of course this is all assuming HBO stays true to the books [looking at you Walking Dead] as showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have admitted that some things from the novels will not make it into the show. However, I'm sure those are probably [hopefully] minor moments and all the important backstabbing, savagery, and shadowy intrigue the series is known for will still be paramount. Game of Thrones Season Two kicks off April 1st, 2012.

Highly anticipated since its early stages of development, the first season of Game of Thrones was very well received by viewers and critics. The series was picked up for a second season on April 19, 2011, two days after its premiere. It was nominated for several awards, including Outstanding Drama Series for the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards and Best Television Series - Drama at the 69th Golden Globe Awards; Peter Dinklage also won both ceremonies' Best Supporting Actor award (Emmy and Golden Globes).
