Game Of Thrones is without a doubt one of the biggest shows in the world it has for some time been assumed that the show would run for seven seasons well now HBO programming president Michael Lombardo has came out and said that the show could run for at least eight seasons“Seven-seasons-and-out has never been the [internal] conversation,The question is: How much beyond seven are we going to do? Obviously we’re shooting six now, hopefully discussing seven. [Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are] feel like there’s two more years after six. I would always love for them to change their minds, but that’s what we’re looking at right now.” said Lombardo at the Television Critics Association’s press tour regarding doing a prequel series he said “I would be open to anything that Dan and David wanted to do—about Game of Thrones, or any subject matter,It really would depend fully on what they wanted to do. I think you’re right, there’s enormous storytelling to be mined in a prequel, if George and Dan and David decide they want to tackle that. At this point, all the focus is on the next few years of the show. We haven’t had any conversations about that at this point.” So there you have it guys what do you think of this news let me know in the commetns below.

Happy to hear we'll get at least 8 seasons. We need it! There's two more books, and I'm sure they're going to make up a bunch of crap.

And yeah, the prequel should be the Dunk and Egg stuff, which starts 89 years before the main novels.

Last season was uneventful. Nothing truly game-changing happened. Add that in with the fact Martin's lazy ass has yet to finish his damn books and we're gonna be looking at the worst improv season 7 and 8 in television history.

Nothing game-changing happened?!

Jon died.
Dany is now captured by dothraki.
Stannis died.
We got to see the might of the White Walkers.
Marsella died.

Granted, most of this happened in the last few episodes.

As long as they keep up the quality, i'll watch 20 seasons.

@NightsKing LOL! This last season just seemed to go for shock value. Nothing major really happened to advance the storyline. Just some people died and others finally did the thing they were meant to do all along (Ride the dragons, etc.). It wasn't like the Red Wedding or the battle on the wall.
