New GAME OF THRONES Season 3 Teaser Is Set In Modern Times

Game Of Thrones returns to our screens for its third season on 31/03/13.

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lust and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all will play the 'Game of Thrones.'

Umm... what? I do not want to watch this show if any of it in modern times. I dont watch this show for modern times. I pray this is nothing more than a marketing mishap. Seriously... I am not joking when I say I will drop this show so quick and so hard if they bring the modern day into play. I've loved every second of GoT thus far, but this would absolutely be a deal-breaker. Fingers crossed..................

this is horrible, some people might think that time travelling will be involved. cheap, lazy and lame.

KeefNCookies, it's just an ad! Trust me, we won't be seeing Jaimie Lannister riding the tube.

I never read the books so I wonder how this will play out...

I can't see the video.

Also, I was pumped like a mad-man when i first heard them sing Rains of Castamere! It's an important song in the books, but i didn't think they'd actually sing it!! :D

They are not coming into our world at all!!! It simply saying the show is coming back so we can watch their fantasy world in our real life!!! Hmmm sort of like reading a comic book or movie! Imagine that!!!

Love how everyone suddenly takes this advert so literally, especially when they use "returns".

simple subtext they are just saying their world is on our tv screens again. i thought it was quite cool tbf

Netflix does not have a contract with HBO, hence why you don't see True Blood on Netflix

Right, I totally understand its (hopefully) intended meaning... but I'm just saying; There is nothing worse that could be done to the series than any kind of far-future time-lapse or time-travel. I obviously havent read the books and I'm definitely not backing down now, but that teaser gave me an extremely bad taste in my mouth~

@Keef

Stop your whining over a very cool ad. Its meant to show that since it will be returning to TV again that we will collide with their world. As in we get to watch the show. If you can't see the art in what they are trying to imply then please don't type a stupid comment. In no way would they do that and in no way does our world ever exist in theirs. God stupidty in people really frustrates when it's not even necessary. Sorry if im being prick bout it.

I didn't think there would actually be people that would believe that there's a time-skip or time-travel just from an ad lmao.

Phew! Finally saw the video. Very cool! Although sort of reminded me of Assassins Creed, what with the buildings and all...LOL

Cool ad. It's funny that some people think this is going to involve the real world. Come on people.

People keep talking about "time travel" and stuff, because of this teaser. A Song of Ice and Fire takes place in a fantasy world, not even Earth. This is just an advertisement. *sigh*

If you don't understand this ad, it makes me wonder if you understand half of what you see in the show.

@jehosaphat-you beat me to it! I was about to say "If you're dumb enough to think that ad meant time travel or a modern take on Game of Thrones, how in the HELL do you even understand what's going on in the show?"

@Kevin-Nope. Not being a prick at all. I can't stand stupidity. Ignorance is ok, I can deal with that. If you aren't fully informed about a particular subject BEFORE you voice your opinion, that is ignorance. But when something so damn obvious is in your face and you STILL don't get it...stupidity.

This was barely a minute long ad, imagine the same people watching 90 minute movies and how much of that they simply misunderstand because they lack the ability to think figuratively?

..then think, they have the power to vote! Scary world!

beane2099 - 1/12/2013, 8:59 AM
As others have said already, I'm pretty sure they're just saying new episodes of the show are coming soon. Their world returns to ours ... through our television sets is the end of that sentence. The title of this post also reads "teaser set in modern times", not the show.
