Secret Invasion star Emilia Clarke has confirmed that Kit Harington is hard at work developing a Game of Thrones sequel focusing on Jon Snow, and reveals whether she would be open to making an appearance.

It was recently revealed that HBO is in the very early stages of developing its first Game of Thrones sequel. If it comes together (many of their planned spinoffs haven't), the series will revolve around Kit Harington's Jon Snow, a character who we last saw heading north of The Wall after being exiled for killing Daenerys Targaryen.

He did so for what he felt was the greater good, of course, but time will tell whether his decision was the right one. The vast majority of fans certainly don't seem to think so, and Dany's death at Jon's hands remains one of the final season's most divisive moments. Regardless, there's still a lot to explore with this character, and it seems the untitled spinoff is indeed moving ahead.

During an interview with BBC News (via SFFGazette.com), Harington's fellow Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke dropped quite the bombshell about the series. "He has told me about it. And I know it exists. It's happening," the actor confirmed. "It's been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he's in it from the ground up."

"So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens," Clarke continued, "is certified by Kit Harington." As for whether she could factor into the show in any way, the Secret Invasion star quickly responded, "No, I think I'm done! [Laughs]"

In the same interview, the actor admitted that she's intrigued by this summer's Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. Saying she's "fascinated" to watch the story take shape, Clarke added: "It's going to be weird as hell. I'm going to watch this as a fresh viewer because it's [set] a be-jillion years before our show, so it's going to feel different."

Clarke is clearly happy to move on from Game of Thrones, but we can't wait to spend more time with Jon in this corner of Westeros. The fact that Harington is playing a role in its development is new news, though it's a reveal likely to be welcomed by fans hoping to see one of the show's most beloved characters done justice.

Well he has no career outside of Thrones so duh

@McMurdo - I know you hate the MCU and like to troll regarding it at every given opportunity but he literally has been casted as The Black Knight and being a hero in the MCU is pretty much the opposite of 'he has no career'.

@Blahsketcase94 - MCU Blade is finna be weird but you know it'll be a generic good time like every other outing

@McMurdo - Pretty sure a lot of actors out there wished they had "no careers" like this guy.

@UncleHarm1 - Never brought up Blade but sure. However, hard disagree it's going to be 'generic'. If anything, Strange 2 has proven that Blade will be done justice. There was nothing generic about that.

I wonder how it will accommodate with his MCU schedule as they develop his character of Black Knight.

I wonder if Emilia Clarke's character will live beyond Secret Invasion to see if they again cross paths.

@AmazingFILMporg - saw it as well, I thought it was pretty good too. Maybe a 9/10 for me. It was well done, well acted, well written. Ethan Hawke in particular was great. Maybe it didnt blow my socks off like I was expecting it too with all that buzz, but good flick.
Next horror thriller for me will be NOPE.

Kit himself is involved with the show? Now I'm even more confident Jon Snow is actually getting do something again, unlike his standing around for the last two seasons. His whole arc at the Night Watch was probably my favourite in GoT, so I hope they can continue that

So... he's a member of the Nights Watch..... how on earth can they not make an entire show about that not tedious and boring? All the interesting aspects of Jon have been resolved for better or worse... they could only milk his misery. And a redemption arc... just.... no.

I mean, I suppose if they can find a truly compelling story and new arc for him that makes this new show actually necessary and moving rather than a cash grab.... I'd be open minded to have my mind changed... but idk man lol

@UGLYsonic - there is no Nights Watch or Wall anymore. What are you talking about? He went North, far beyond the Wall with the Wildlings. Lots of unexplored world out there with all kinds of Beasts and Giants.

@Toblakai - what are YOU talking about? LMAO There is definitely still the Nights Watch. That was Jon's punishment. And the Wall is still the Wall, it was just broken through in one place. Its still The Nights Watch job to guard it from those beasts and giants.

Jon even ask Tyrion, "There's still a Nights Watch?"

And Tyrion replies, "The world will always need a home for bastards and broken men."

And he was only helping the Wildlings find a new home. He is still exiled to the Wall, damned to take no wife, own no land and have no children. He still has to return to The Wall and the Nights Watch, which existed long before "Winter was coming".

And an entire show with Jon set in the frozen tundra or on the Wall.... it doesn't interest me.

@Toblakai -

Proof of Nights Watch and his sentence:

Proof of the Wall still being a thing:

@Toblakai - for the record, I don't blame you for forgetting all of that. I wish I could forget that entire last season.

@UGLYsonic - why would there be a NW? They have nothing to watch for and half the Wall is rubble.

Will this show be set be-jillion years before? I thought it was just a couple of generations before? Like 200 or 300 years earlier than Got.

Probably thinking that if the ending sucked, he can at least improve his character’s ending. Lol. Maybe this will serve as a epilogue of sorts to the main series and hopefully improve on some things. Who knows. I’m being optimistic.
