Ever since Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff and DB Weiss no longer had George R.R. Martin's books to turn to for the HBO series, they've made creative decisions which have proved to be divisive among fans. They were supposedly following the author's blueprint, of course, but the final year definitely didn't play out how most viewers wanted.

That was particularly the case with the series finale, and "Bran the Broken" ending up on the (melted) Iron Throne wasn't something anyone seemed to be rooting for beforehand.

Now, Emilia Clarke has reflected on how things ended for Daenerys Targaryen, and it sounds like she was disappointed with both her character's fate and the fact Jon Snow got something of a happy ending after killing his cousin and the woman he claimed to love.

"Yeah, I felt for her. I really felt for her," the actress explains. "And yeah, was I annoyed that Jon Snow didn’t have to deal with something? He got away with murder — literally."

We've not really heard much from the cast regarding how they felt about Game of Thrones' ending, but there were definitely some controversial decisions, and it wouldn't be surprising for a lot of them to be unhappy with where they ended up after spending years playing these heroes and villains.

What did you guys think about how things ended for Daenerys in Game of Thrones?
