Does This New AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Promo Image Tease GHOST RIDER For Season 4? Probably Not

An image is doing the rounds which might just hint at the introduction of Ghost Rider to the fourth season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - but there is also a more logical possibility...

The official Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter page posted the following image of a pretty awesome SDCC tram, bearing a promotional banner for the upcoming fourth season of the ABC series. For Marvel Comics fans, the fiery chain will instantly call Ghost Rider to mind, and for that reason it's sparked a rumor that the Spirit of Vengeance could make his TV debut on the show next year. It's not outside the realm of possibility - after all, Marvel has the rights to the character back - but there is a far more likely explanation.

Hellfire (Axle Whitehead) was introduced last season, and he also wields a flaming chain. Granted, by the end he was really just a henchman to Hive - but if this relates to him it definitely hints at a much larger role for the Aussie Inhuman next season.

Hellfire does have ties to Ghost Rider though, so if this does signify a more prominent arc for that character, there's always the chance either Dan Ketch or Johnny Blaze could show up at some point. What do you guys think?

...I am ridiculously surprised this show is still on the air. It's just so...pedestrian.

@Parker00 - if you actually watched and followed the show you would realize it isn't pedestrian at all. It's just not the major players in the MCU. I find that it adds to the MCU in interesting ways, fills in the gaps and makes the whole thing more enjoyable.

@Goldboink - I admit, I gave up on it a little into the second season. I really tried to stick with it but it just couldn't seem to keep me. I was surprised it went past the second season. Part of it was the fact that I felt the more I learned about Coulson, the less interesting he became.

@Parker00 - For me the show is less about Coulson and more about the powered players and others on the team. I personally love where coulson has gone and can't wait to find out what is next.

@lukehero - It's an entirely different tone as well. AOS has it's dark moments but not Ghost Rider dark.
