Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres this Tuesday for most of us, but the cast and crew are already talking about the second episode, titled '0-8-4'. While on the red carpet for Entertainment Weekly's Pre-Emmys party,
Zap2it caught up with star Elizabeth Henstridge to tease what's in store in the new Marvel show's coming episodes.
Every week there's a new weird thing going on. We just pinch ourselves constantly, Henstridge says.
Each script we get, we can't believe it's bigger than the first. Yes, I'm excited for people to see the premiere next week, but then Number 2 is so huge that we can't wait for that either. This is Henstridge's first major television role, but she doesn't seem to feel any pressure going into the premiere. She says she is not nervous about it.
In a funny way, I'm not nervous about it, she says.
I'm just excited about 'Agents of SHIELD.' We're so proud of it and we're just excited to share it now and see what people think. We definitely feel like we're welcoming new fans and then also kind of satisfying current fans. I think we're just excited. We love it, and we just feel like the fans are going to love it and new people are going to love it. Henstridge then talks about each character's story-arc in the show, something she and some other cast members talked about in the past.
There's definitely story arcs that's going to make people invest in the characters and really care about what happens to them. she says.
In the other sense, you can dip in and out. You don't need to know the full backstory to enjoy each episode in its own right. Will you be watching the pilot of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Sound off below!
Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
