Following the recent trailer, Marvel (via IGN) has shared our first look at the official key-art for the upcoming fifth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The poster features Coulson, Quake, May, Fitz, Simmons, Yo-Yo, and Mack wielding his awesome shotgun-axe. They are utilising the ol' floating heads technique here, but it still looks pretty cool.

We also have a much better version of the recent sneak peek, which sees our heroes fleeing from a mysterious alien creature that may or may not turn out to be one of The Brood.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return with a two-hour premiere on Friday, Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

It baffles me how in certain groups this series is still considered a joke.

I can't tell how it stands among other series, since I'm not a US viewer, but this is easily light years ahead of any other (network) comic book series.

[pun not intended]

@OedipusGrex - the show is really good, most people just want cameos from iron man and stuff bc this show was sold as being in the mcu

Love the show and can't wait. Kree, The Brood, Mac's shotgun axe. 22 weeks straight through.

@Goldboink - probably not going to be 22 straight. that was back when it was believed to start in january. with the december start, we will likely get a break but a very small one so they can get it into may.

Woo-hoo! Can't wait...

You know, I was thinking the other day, with "Captain Marvel" set to introduce the Skrulls to the MCU... What if Coulson really did die for good back in "the Avengers", and the one we've been following all of these years on the show was a captured Skrull programmed with Coulson's memories?

@Chewtoy - That would be crazy. But it's way too risky to give sensitive material and authority to a Skrull, even if he was brainwashed.

@Spock0Clock - Hydra might have been willing to do it... or even just Skrulls within Hydra/Shield. We never did learn who was running that base with the dead Kree, did we?

Could have been a plan to replace Avengers with Skrulls... Fury thinks they’re being resurrected, But it’s just a scam program. Coulson-Skrull is a sleeper who hasn’t been activated.

Sure it’s just fanfic level speculation as there’s nothing behind it, but I had fun thinking about it.

I just finished inhumans (which wasnt that bad) and think the teased enemy at the end is somehow gonna factor into Agents of SHIELD

Can't wait, but troubled that SHIELD is now on Friday night at 9 p.m. That's one of the least-viewed time slots on TV.

Chloe Bennet looks significantly hotter with the longer hairstyle she had originally, so I'm really glad to see it making a return.

Looking so good. I wish more people actually give this show a fair shake cause it has been awesome. Each season has built upon the last and gets better and better. Love the Alien vibe, only issue is why isn't Yoyo using her powers? That being said that could be explained in the show soooo... I can't wait.
