New Photo Previews For AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., GOTHAM, iZOMBIE, SLEEPY HOLLOW, & More
A batch of first look photos from the upcoming seasons of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Gotham, iZombie, Once Upon A Time, Sleepy Hollow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries have been released.
As part of their Fall TV preview, TV Line has released a handful of new stills and plot details from over 40 fall premieres, including more than a few of the shows we enjoy here at ComicBookMovie. Check them out below:
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Director Coulson and his Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spent a lot of last season separated from one another, but it looks like they'll be forced to come together throughout the course of this upcoming season with no less than four major (non-Avengers) level threats coming their way. One of these major threats will be the Inhuman-hunting Advanced Threat Containment Unit, led by Constance Zimmer (Entourage). Additonally, don't expect the series to immediately tackle the Mockingbird/Lance Hunter spin-off as executive producer Jeffrey Bell suggested that the groundwork for that series won't be laid until much later down the road.
Gotham
With the second season of Gotham being dubbed the "Rise of the Villains," it was only a matter of time before we started to see the rise of the Batman. Star David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne, shared that after discovering the secrets in his father's batcave, Wayne will be left with a better understanding of his own father as well as the inner workings of Wayne Enterprises, which will eventually lead into Alfred training Bruce as he begins his long and arduous journey to become the Dark Knight. Additionally, Cory Michael Smith, who plays Edward Nygma, teased that as Nygma's darker side begins to manifest, there will be pretty much two Eds, contending with one another as the Riddler is born. As for series protagonist Jim Gordon, Morena Baccarin (Deadpool) shared that while still fighting the good fight, he's going to get pulled into the darkness a bit.
iZombie
The second season of CW's surprise hit iZombie will pick up three months after the first season finale with Liv more or less on the outs with the people closest to her, save for Ravi, as Major is still struggling with the secrets Liv kept, Peyton still M.I.A., and her surviving family members understandably upset with her. Elsewhere, Blaine is enjoying life as a human and as a faux zombie. He'll also be joining forces with Liv in order to take down their common enemy, Max Rager. Also, executive producer Rob Thomas teases that Major's mission this season is a huge reveal in the premiere episode.
The Vampire Diaries
To follow-up the departure of series star Nina Dobrev (Let's Be Cops), the show will pick up its seventh season with a series of brief three-year flash-forwards that'll reveal unexpected futures for Stefan, Damon, & the rest of Mystic Falls. Meanwhile, in present day, Lily Salvatore and her Heretic family will be painting the town blood red, literally, and forcing Enzo & Matt to reconsider the company they keep. As for relationships, Damon & Alaric will be dealing with their respective losses with bourbon and Bonnie, while Stefan & Caroline face a major curveball in episode six.
Once Upon A Time
The fifth season of Once Upon A Time opens with Emma Swan as the new Dark One and while co-creator Adam Horowitz describes her brand of evil as not rampant, she will do something particularly bad to the people she loves early on, which will force Snow White and company to fast-track their trip to the mystical Camelot to find the all-powerful Merlin. Horowitz also teases a bromance between Charming and King Arthur, a team-up between Belle and Merida, and the return of Meghan Ory as Ruby, better known as Red Riding Hood/Big Bad Wolf.
Sleepy Hollow
A lot has changed since we last visited Sleepy Hollow, specifically that Abbie Mills is now an FBI agent and Ichabod Crane has returned from some extended alone time in England. New showrunner Clifton Campbell teases that whatever Ichabod discovered back in his home country will alter the meaning of what it means to be a Witness. Both heroes will be back just in time for the Second Tribulation to begin and will have Jenny and Joe Corbin to back them up. Additionally, Nikki Reed (Twilight) and Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight's Tale) are now a part of the series as Betsy Ross and Pandora, respectively.
Supernatural
The CW's longest running drama Supernatural is back for its eleventh season and things really haven't gotten any easier for Dean & Sam. This season, the Winchesters will need all the help they can get and more as they battle The Darkness. Executive producer Jeremy Carver teases that the two brothers "will have to make some unexpected and unholy alliances involving folks from their past, which will have personal ramifications." Does this mean any potential resurrections of old deceased fan favorites? "We're talking about a fight that is going to incorporate the likes of Heaven and Hell and those on Earth. So there's certainly opportunity to see folks that have departed."
