Business Insider has released a report stating that Daredevil is the top-rated TV series on Netflix. Due to the variety and high quality of the shows available on Netflix, this is a great achievement for a comic book adaptation.
Netflix uses a five-star user rating system and currently, Marvel’s Daredevil has a 4.6 star rating, this is 0.1 stars better than Breaking Bad, House of Cards, and Sherlock. It is debatable whether Daredevil is better than all of those shows, but to be in the same category is a huge accomplishment.
Daredevil not only brought us great action, but it introduced us to the complicated life that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) leads. It dove into the complexities of Murdock’s inner circle and relationships with Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). Daredevil also explored the crime families that operate within Hell’s Kitchen and gave us one of Marvel’s greatest on screen villains, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio). D’Onofrio’s performance as Fisk was a major highlight of the show, proving that Kingpin is still such a fun and complex character.
Next up, Marvel is set to give us another complex and truly demented villain, Purple Man/ Zebediah Killgrave in A.K.A Jessica Jones, played by the talented David Tennant.
