Daredevil not going to Comic-Con

Deborah Ann Woll just said on her Twitter account that Daredevil will not be at this year’s Comic-Con.

Actress Deborah Ann Woll who plays Karen Page in Marvel and Netflix’s breakout series Daredevil was asked on her twitter if she was going to be at Comic-Con this summer and replied with the following statement “No. Daredevil won't be at SDCC this year.”  With nothing from the Jessica Jones camp and this.  It sounds like the Netflix division is following the lead of Marvels Studios, and sitting this one out.

I'm slowly starting to accept that Marvel won't be announcing the Iron Fist casting at SDCC.

Netflix has NYCC, I fully expect them to return there this year after hsi successful they were with Daredevil last year. They'll be able to show off Jessica Jones, Daredevil Season Two, and maybe announce something about Iron Fist. I'm cool with it, and it makes sense given the shows all film in NYC.

I think we are in the begining stages of what will become known as "Marvelcon"

After the success of last years announcement, D23, SW Celebration, etc.....Marvel is going to ditch SDCC all together for its own thing.

Between ABC TV, Netflix, Developing Cartoons, and Movies(plus invite Sony & maybe even Fox).. PLUS Comics... They have more then enough material to fill 2-3 days a year and not share the spotlight or compete for the spotlight from anyone

Although I do wonder when will they start shooting DD Season 2. Luke Cage was reported to start shooting in August and go until March. So I wonder if DD will overlap that, and which one will come out first

LOL @ Marvel totally ducking SDCC this year. Didn't want DC to smack that fanny.

And who really cares about NYCC? It doesn't have half the buzz that SDCC does. Marvel would be better off doing their thing at D23.

Why would they be going? What could they show?

Well that is a damn shame. So nothing worthwhile from Marvel Studios at Comic-Con now.

its a shame Marvel Studios won't be at Comic Con but lets be honest they don't need Comic Con as much as the others.

SDCC is way too early to promote Jessica Jones when NYCC is closer to its premiere. Daredevil season 2 doesn't drop until next spring so why expect it at SDCC? Last year, Daredevil was at NYCC -most likly it will be there again this year. Jessica Jones should be there too since that's right before it drops on Netflix. And doesn't it make better sense for NYCC to be where Netflix promotes considering the location?

There's been a lot being being made about Marvel Studios not being at SDCC, but let's put this into perspective, each year (2008 & 2011) when they skipped it -they DID go to NYCC. So it's possible BOTH Netflix and Marvel Studios will have a strong presence there. WB is throwing all they got into SDCC -will they spend the same amount of money or have new material for NYCC, 3 months later? While SDCC will be all DC -except the Marvel Television panel -October's NYCC could be ALL Marvel. Plus, Marvel also has the added bonus of D23 in August. .
