Unfortunately, Marvel Television's Netflix TV shows all quite clearly declined in quality over time, and that was definitely the case with Jessica Jones.
Following a phenomenal first season, the second batch of episodes was a disappointment and the third...well, the less said about that, the better. Still, we really can't find fault with Krysten Ritter's performance as the alcoholic P.I., and rumours have swirled for a while that she may return as Jessica Jones in the MCU.
Earlier this year, Ritter shared some photos on Instagram of her hitting the gym, seemingly training for an upcoming role. However, the fact she was wearing a Daredevil t-shirt is what sent speculation into overdrive about a possible appearance in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again.
Now, the MCU's Kingpin of Crime, Vincent D'Onofrio has added further fuel to the fire by sharing a photo of himself, Charlie Cox, and Ritter all reuniting at a recent convention.
In all honesty, it seems likely that this was just three friends taking the opportunity to take a photo together. As you might expect, though, there are plenty of fans convinced this means something, especially as several reliable scoopers have teased Marvel Studios' plans for Jessica.
It was originally reported that Ritter had been eyed for a cameo in Echo, with scheduling issues bringing a quick end to that idea. However, we've since heard she'll be among the few Netflix characters joining the Man Without Fear in his new series.
As that's set to explore street-level superheroes across 18 episodes, it's arguably the best place possible for Ritter to get another chance to play Jessica Jones.
We wouldn't necessarily expect any sort of appearance to lead to another series or movie, but one would be welcomed, and she could quite easily become a recurring presence in any projects that take place on the mean streets of New York City.
The confirmed cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson have all been cast in undisclosed roles.
Due to delays caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Daredevil: Born Again has been delayed indefinitely and we're expecting a 2025 debut for the reboot.
