Marvel Television's Jeph Loeb Unsure Of How The Disney + Fox Merger Will Impact The TV Side Of Marvel

There's a lot of moving parts in the Disney and Fox merger. Where Marvel movies stream after theatrical runs and where television shows premiere are all being carefully weighed and calculated.

While the X-Men and Fantastic Four were barred from Marvel Studios, Marvel Television has worked with the Fox-owned Marvel properties for quite some time, with shows like The Gifted and Legion achieving relative levels of success.  So just precisely how the impending merger will affect the television side of Marvel remains to be seen.

Jeph Loeb, comic scribe turned Executive VP of Marvel Television, told CB at the TCA's that he's not quite sure himself.

"I have to wait for them to be resolved and I'm not trying ... You know me well enough to know that I usually go that's classified or any," said Loeb.

He continued, "We are literally waiting for two multi-billion dollar corporations to figure out how they're going to merge. And when that happens then they'll be a decision made as to where these characters land and what happens with them and that kind of thing...Like you know the thought that the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are coming home, in whatever format that turns out to be, is extraordinary you know. And I can't wait to see what the movie division does. I can't wait to see what we do. I can't wait to see what the gaming division [does]..."

How do you think the merger will impact the television side of Marvel?

Instead of X-Men and Avengers characters walled-off in their own universe, perhaps we'll see a show that has leads from both those corners of the Marvel universe.
