POWERS: Watch The First Episode & A New Trailer Right Here

The first 3 instalments of Powers launch today for Playstation Network subscribers, but episode 1 is available to watch online for free. We also have a trailer highlighting some of the crazy stuff we can expect from future episodes. This is NSFW because of language and gruesome violence.

"Powers," an edgy dramatic series from Sony Pictures Television and inspired by the graphic novel series of the same name, follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker (Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Heyward), who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with extraordinary abilities, referred to as “Powers.” Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, Powers asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals? Enter the men and women of the Powers Division, the only people brave enough to go up against the overpaid, commercialized, superhumans who glide through the sky imposing their power over the crowds below who both worship and fear them.

Powers debuts on March 10.

no way is it that bad. It's not great, but it's not a kiddie soap opera either.

This cast is really poor,
They're good actors but just do not fit these roles. The original cast from the first pilot seemed like they'd be so much better.

I don't know, it just feels so amateur to me, nice tone but just the way it's made.

Still haven't watched this.
I'll watch it later on my PlayStation, but something I know is Brian Michael Bendis is involved so it's prob gonna be cringe worthy.

@ MrShmelvis

They are free if you have Playstation Plus which you should have any way because you need it to play games online.

I was so excited for this, but I am beyond let down. It is so awful, no matter how bad the FX pilot was, it almost certainly has to be Oscar caliber compared to this.

@TheGeekInPurple

Yes you do.
He's talking about the PS4.
Where have you been these past year?

Damn! I was really hoping this wouldn't be corny. I haven't watched it yet, but I did see the promo photos and now that I'm reading these comments, doesn't sound too good.

@jollem
a msg says that you mentioned me but now I'm here and there is nothing!
Good to hear from someone that it isn't corny though. I just assumed from these comments and the corny costumes that were in the promo photos, but I'll make my judgment tonight after work.

I thought this was pretty could. Reminded me more of Mortal Kombat Legacy than a HBO show, but I still liked it a lot. Copely was great.

@jollem

good to hear! I wasn't worried about Copley, District 9 is one of my favorites. I find bad acting is rare, it usually just comes down to the script.
And that is the pic I was thinking of, so if you still vouch for it, I'm back to being as psyched as I was yesterday. Although I can't recall if our tastes mesh at all or not...

First episode was great but I still won't be signing up for PSN+ just for this. I'll be looking for this online. Copley is great as always and the tone seems comic book inspired but not too corny.

haha @jollem fair enough! I'm kinda with you. I WATCH all stuff, but I have no problem admitting it's terrible. I've seen every ep of arrow and flash, and will get into season 2 of SHIELD soon, but I will also admit that they are all terrible haha.
