IRON FIST Writer Starts Working On Marvel And Hulu's RUNAWAYS

Apparently Tamara Becher impressed enough folks over at Marvel with her work on Iron Fist that she's landed another writing gig at the House of Ideas - this time on Hulu's Runaways adaptation.

It would appear that the Runaways TV series from Hulu could possibly be hitting streaming devices sooner rather than later as Tamara Becher (who also worked on Marvel's Iron Fist collaboration with Netflix) just Tweeted that today marks the first day of her work on Runaways.

Just how many episodes Becher will be writing is currently a mystery although the timing of her announcement likely indicates that she's at the very least, writing the pilot.

What are your expectations for the series?  If you're not already a Hulu subscriber, is this a show that could potentially make you sign up?

ABOUT RUNAWAYS
Runaways debuted in 2003 from Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona and followed the teenage children of an evil crime syndicate known as The Pride.  The series lasted 18 issue but was cancelled in September 2004.  However, the tpb collection went on to be a surprise bestseller and Marvel resurrected the title in 2005 and published regular issues until 2009.

Marvel Studios had a film adaptation in development as early as 2008 but various factors kept the film from ever joining Marvel's slate of upcoming releases.  Drew Pearce's work on the script is what led to Kevin Feige selecting him to write the screenplay for Iron Man 3.  First announced last August, Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are spearheading development.

It's crazy to think how many new characters and shows they're bringing to life now that all exist under the MCU banner and in the same Universe (crossover or not).

@MiopTop - It most likely will be. I dont' see why it wouldn't be. If it's from Marvel TV, then there's no good reason to not add more characters to the MCU.

For some reason, I forgot this existed. But this is gonna be pretty awesome nonetheless. Also, for any still doubting Taika Waititi's ability for Thor 3, watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Holy shit, that film is amazing.
