RUNAWAYS Showrunners Say Season 2 Will Be A "Different Version Of The Show"; Tease MCU References
Season 2 of Marvel and Hulu's Runaways is expected to premiere this winter, and now the series' showrunners say fans can expect to see a vastly different second season as well as a reference to the MCU...
The first season of Hulu's Runaways wasn't Marvel Television's biggest hit, but when the season finale saw the young heroes finally go on the run, many fans began to wonder how the series would change.
And based on showrunners Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz interview with The Hollywood Reporter, it sounds like viewers can expect to see some radical changes.
"Season two is a very different version of the show with the kids living together, the information they have about their parents vs. in a way, season one was like a murder mystery of them figuring out what was going on," executive producer Stephanie Savage explained.
While Savage didn't get too specific, it was revealed that the youngsters will find a new home in an abandoned hostel that lies beneath Griffith Park, which should be familiar to fans of the comics.
However, like most Marvel shows, we shouldn't just expect Runaways to explore the lives of its teenage characters, as Josh Schwartz teased a reference in Season 2 that will connect to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"We'll have a reference that's late in the season that will probably be our first real bread crumb that connects to the MCU," Josh Schwartz revealed.
As expected, Schwartz remained mum on what this new Easter egg will be, but it should be interesting to see, especially since Season 1 was fairly light on references to other MCU properties.
