We had previously been led to believe that Fox TV's new X-Men drama series would be titled Gifted, but producer Lauren Shuler Donner has now confirmed that it's actually going to be The Gifted, while sharing our very first behind-the-scenes photo from the Dallas shoot.

The image features Bryan Singer directing former Angel alum Amy Acker as Caitlin Stewart, a woman who must come to terms with the fact that her children are mutants while struggling with her separation from husband, Reed (Stephen Moyer).

The Gifted is being executive produced by showrunner and writer Matt Nix, along with Shuler Donner, Singer, Simon Kinberg and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

The X-Men spinoff will also feature established Marvel characters such as Thunderbird (Blair Redford), Blink (Jamie Chung) and Polaris (Emma Dumont), in addition to the robotic Sentinels.

Kinda cool... But still nothing about this has really caught my attention. Legion was kind of unknown, but still had me interested in seeing what it was about. Maybe that'll change with a trailer or something.

@Kman - I hope Blink and Polaris are prominent characters in the show.

I feel all the actors will be great (Amy is great in Angelas Fred/Illiriya) my only worry is the cgi. Yes TV cgi has come along way (dragons on GoTs) but lets face it we would criticise that level of cgi if it were in movies today.

The CGI in Legion is good but I feel it is helped with the unique cinematography. All I hope is that Blinks portals are like the DoFP (were they seem to tear reality) as opposed to a swriling pink circle we see in the comics.

If it aint Legion or connected to Legion, I don't give a shit, and I dig Amy Acker. Maybe that's a bad attitude to have but I'm in love and love is stupid.

@RorMachine - Part of my excitement was because it was on FX tho... Fox doesn't give me the same confidence

I'm getting pretty damn tired of seeing all these "watered down", "loosely based", "original character driven" X-Men spinoff's . Here's an Idea how about they do a show or a movie based on 5 gifted youngsters who have special abilities let's say one of them has concussive from blasts from his eyes, one (a female) is a telekinetic, possibly telepathic. The another has wings like a bird and there's another one whose incredible acrobat and also scientist and, the 5th one that can form ice from his hands and become living ice! Now what if they're all brought together by one man a powerful telepath named Professor X (who just found out he has a crazy son named Legion) and together they all try to find other gifted mutants across the world, meanwhile being attacked by who knows the sentinels, the government etc. isn't that original? Matt Nix, Shuler Donner, Singer, Simon Kinberg , Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory! THIS IS WHAT WE WANT TO SEE!!! WTF!!!!

MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 3/23/2017, 8:52 AM
@astromerc - No, that's not original.. that's the X-Men. There have been lots of movies about those guys already.
astromerc
astromerc - 3/23/2017, 8:54 AM

I'm also not clear why people here are continuously drinking the Kool-Aid saying this is gonna be "good"! This is gonna be "great"! When we all know it's not it's gonna be a lesser version of what we really want to see! Why we are like give it a chance! We've given "Fox and Friends" 10+ years it's enough it's time to get back to the source material! The rights are never going back I get it, I think we all do but we need to smarten up, AND DEMAND TO SEE THE REAL X-MEN! Stop watching the crap they are giving us until we get them, no more half-a** shows!!!

@RorMachine- So...You don't want to see the X-Men? Is that what your saying? You want this instead?
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 3/23/2017, 8:59 AM
@astromerc - No, I'm saying I've already seen The X-Men. It was an adaptation of a comic I love, which still exists in various forms, and routinely shakes up the team dynamic anyway.

astromerc - 3/23/2017, 8:58 AM
@RorMachine- No that's the point WE have not SEEN the Real X-Men yet! We have seen water down Bryan Singer Fox-men. C'mon dude you know what I'm saying.

@astromerc - In a perfect world you're 100% right.... In this current world, unless X-Men Supernova really digs into adjusting the accuracy of the current Fox X-Men.... you're going to be waiting for quite some time

@TheSoulEater, @CaptainAmerica, you guys are probably working on the production as one of the producers or are just haters.

@astromerc - I've never really cared for the actress, and i'm hoping that something about this series makes me take interest in it, and upon seeing nothing has, i posted thus.
