The Gifted has added its first season 2 series regular in the form of Empire's Grace Byers, and her character should be very familiar to long-time X-Men comic fans.

Byers will play Reeva Payge, also known as the Hellfire Club's Black Queen. This small-screen take on the villain is described as:

“a smart, charming, authoritative, elegant, beautiful woman who is ruthless in her efforts to fight for her people. She leads an elite band of followers and has a soft spot for her new recruits, but is still capable of extreme violence in defence of her vision.”

Payge will align herself with Emma Dumont’s Polaris, Percy Hynes White’s Andy Strucker and the Frost sisters played by Skyler Samuels.

The Gifted returns for its second season this fall.

That sounds good. I am going to binge watch soon the 1st Season to be caught up. The Gifted sounds like a great and fun X-Men/mutant show.

So what's the status on this show? Is it going to get the axe when the inevitable FOX buyout happens?

I've heard good things, so I'm wondering if I should start this show to catch up before S02 airs.

@L0RDbuckethead - The main characters are descendants of Baron Von Strucker's twin kids.

This show was a pretty good take on an alternate X-men, especially for Fox.

😻Writer Kevin Grevioux stated that the character of Selene in Underworld is loosely based on the Marvel Comics character.

I really enjoyed this show. It felt more faithful to the comics than the movies.
