Marvel Studios has finally given us our first real look at VisionQuest, and the must-see trailer packs in an astonishing number of reveals, callbacks, and potential MCU game-changers.

From Vision's mysterious new life in Scotland and the return of Ultron to Tommy Maximoff's search for his father, several familiar faces, and a surprising trip to Madripoor, there's plenty here to unpack.

But perhaps most intriguing is what the trailer tells us about Vision himself. Stripped of the memories, emotions, and sense of identity that once made him an Avenger, he's facing a very different kind of crisis, and it looks like finding himself could have devastating consequences for everyone around him.

Here are the biggest reveals and Easter eggs you may have missed in the first VisionQuest trailer.

8. Vision's Human Life

HPvaVoAXwAAEYyR

When we last saw Vision, he fled Westview after having his memories restored by his Hex counterpart. The Mind Stone was taken from him by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but S.W.O.R.D. rebuilt the hero, albeit without the emotions that make him who he is.

Vision has returned to Scotland, where he and Wanda found peace together before the Mad Titan attacked Earth. He seems to have no emotional connection to that time and is simply making ends meet so that, at night, he can retreat to his real home...

7. The Vision's Complicated Past

HPvaiSCWIAAlAlC

Vision has created a new reality within his mind, where he's attempting to figure out who he is (as he heads to the movies to relive his past, we see posters for his death and rebirth). However, this version of the android is quite clearly not the Avenger we all know and love.

"I'm not a hero anymore," he says. "I have his face, but not his virtue. All I have is his name." Can Vision remember who he was and be made whole again? That will likely be a big part of this series, especially if what we see later in the trailer is any indication.

6. Some Familiar "Faces"

HPvalEnXAAAnKmc

In "The Vision," we see several other AI programs are there alongside the one-time hero. There's Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E (or Dum-E), Jonathan Sayer as U, and Agent Carter star James D'Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. They all appear eager to help him.

Interestingly, there's no sign of Jocasta, a character we know will be portrayed by T'Nia Miller. On the page, she's the bride of Ultron, so you can probably figure out how she'll factor into VisionQuest as we take a closer look at a certain villain's return.

5. Ultron Returns

HPvalEoXMAAIKLy

Yes, Ultron has returned! At the end of 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Vision seemingly destroyed the villain's last remaining piece, though we've long suspected that he survived. Well, as it happens, Ultron is trapped in Vision's mind, forced to take on the form of a human avatar.

His relationship with Vision appears largely antagonistic, with their weird father/son dynamic clearly set to be a big part of this story. We have to believe that Ultron wants out, though, and VisionQuest will either end his story or set the stage for him to menace the Avengers once again.

4. Tommy's Message

HPvaq7pXwAAqfAj

In Agatha All Along, Billy Maximoff successfully transferred his brother Tommy's soul into the body of someone who was about to die. Now, we know that Tommy ended up in Scotland, and that Ruaridh Mollica is using his natural Scottish accent as the MCU's Speed.

Tommy is searching for his father, and when they do finally meet, he's clearly not convinced that it's a good idea for the former Avenger to have a "genocidal maniac" in his head. It seems Speed's rite of passage as a hero will be stopping his grandfather.

3. Is That Scarlet Witch?

HPvaq8AXUAETdHm

We can see why you'd think that, especially with that familiar red glow front and centre. Instead, that looks more like Emily Hampshire to us, who we've previously heard will reprise her Spider-Man: Far From Home role as E.D.I.T.H. The other red-eyed character is Lauren Morais.

The actress was previously reported to play Lisa Molinari, better known as Coat of Arms, who joined the Young Masters of Evil after first encountering Tommy in juvie. It looks like she's powered by Extremis, suggesting she might be another mercenary sent to capture Vision.

2. Paladin And Madripoor

HPvasNzWEAAnc0z

Yes, that's a very comic-accurate Paladin, an assassin tasked with capturing the former Avenger. Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Carmine Infantino, he first appeared in Daredevil #150. His mercenary activities often bring him into conflict with Marvel's heroes.

We also catch sight of Madripoor, a location we haven't visited since The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Don't forget that Faran Tahir is set to reprise his Iron Man role as Raza, and may be seeking to capture Vision and unleash Ultron from the safety of that island.

1. Vision vs. Ultron

HPvatbhWUAEBJK3

While Ultron is encouraging Vision to save his son, it's quite clear he's up to no good in the later stages of this VisionQuest trailer. Back in his robotic form, we see the villain attacking Vision, who has ditched his white appearance for a design more in line with the comics.

We'd bet that this is after Vision has regained his emotions and remembered who he is. However, doing so may have come at the cost of unleashing Ultron, who we know wants nothing more than to wipe out humanity and be the only being left standing.

@Tonic24k - Answer the question. What in that coherent, badly edited, weird to be weird trailer "looked good". Answer the question without insults. I don't care about my reputation on a comic book movie website.

Should I point you to the dozens of articles written this week where I left positive comments? Or does it only fit your narrative for me to be a person who "seemingly hates everything"?

My theory is that Ultron is an NPC styled Avatar deep within the Minecraft world inside of Vision's subconscious. Vision believes every character is just a digital manifestation of people and beings he has interacted with including Ultron portraying his "Dad". But Ultron is still sentient and has been living within Vision as data waiting for the opportunity to corrupt his body. Ultron will help Vision with his journey to find Tommy and gain his trust to then try and take over his body or regain a body at Vision's most vulnerable.

@SonOfAGif - It’s called an opinion Karen relax. Honestly I haven’t watched an MCU series since Hawkeye, which I really enjoyed. Tried She-Hulk, couldn’t get through it. Tried Daredevil, couldn’t get through it. Honestly I’ve been completely put off since they royally screwed up one of my favorite characters, Moon Knight. Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to have all the action occur offscreen where we only see the aftermath of the action?!?! I will say I loved all 3 specials and think they should do more of those! I don’t think series tv works them.

I dont know what it's called in movue naking parlabce.

But weve seen this before in the mcu where a character is looking at their lives through a screen.

But ive heard the Picard S3 showrunner is involved in this so it might be good.

@vectorsigma - s3 was peak. This looks boring tho. Hopefully that's just the fault of the trailer. But so far this doesn't interest me at all.

This looks like it could be just as good as those even with a different showrunner.
