Marvel Studios has released the first critics TV spot for VisionQuest (keep your eyes peeled for a couple of ComicBookMovie.com mentions), and it's packed full of huge reveals...and plenty of praise.
The biggest moment comes when we learn that Paul Bettany is playing Jim Hammond, aka the original Human Torch. It looks like the actor is also going to portray the android's creator, Phineas Horton, meaning he'll pull triple duty in the Disney+ series.
In terms of story implications, it seems likely that Horton based "J.I.M." on himself, meaning that somewhere in Vision's programming is this likeness. That would explain where the hero's human avatar came from, and raises some big questions about what this means for the rest of the MCU's AIs.
However, it may also explain why J.A.R.V.I.S. looks like Edwin Jarvis, Howard Stark's butler and someone who was likely a major part of young Tony Stark's life.
Ruaridh Mollica, meanwhile, has confirmed that Joe Locke's Wiccan appears in VisionQuest. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the Scottish actor said of Joe Locke, "We actually shot our MCU stuff before we did the play, which was amazing. And so we met for a coffee beforehand to get to know each other, and we were just so excited. We became such good friends instantly."
"And then we did a play on the West End together and had this big secret that slowly started to leak as we were doing it. And it was fun, people would be doing secret MCU fan art at the stage door," Mollica added. "It was amazing; it was my first time connecting with fans and people were excited about it."

In our review, we concluded, "Paul Bettany and James Spader are masterful in VisionQuest, a staggering achievement by Marvel Studios and Terry Matalas that understands its characters, does right by them, and delivers one of the best MCU stories ever told."
In VisionQuest, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son, reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.
VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D'Arcy.
The series premieres on Disney+ on October 14.
