We were hoping some merchandise for What If? might be revealed soon, and that's now come our way courtesy of a very cool LEGO set. "Tony Stark's Sakaarian Iron Man" is a new take on the Hulkbuster that seemingly explores what would have happened had the Armored Avenger decided to blast himself into outer space instead of Bruce Banner at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Finding himself in The Grandmaster's arena, it seems Iron Man would have built himself a Hulkbuster armour from the colourful technology on the planet (finding an ally in Valkyrie just as The Hulk did).
We don't know how close this LEGO set will be to what we see on screen, though we are intrigued to find out whether Tony is able to transform that armour into a hot rod he races around Sakaar.
A synopsis for the show was shared during last year's Disney Investor Day, revealing: "'What If…?' flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways."
"Coming to Disney+ in summer 2021, Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU," it continues, "featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. The series is directed by Bryan Andrews; Ashley Bradley is head writer."
Yesterday, it was confirmed that What If? will premiere in August, though an August 6 debut reported by other sites was quickly debunked by Disney (which is why we didn't run with it here).
