Laurence Fishburne first took on the role of Bill Foster in Ant-Man and The Wasp, and while he proved to be something of an antagonist after taking aim at the Ant-Man Family, we'd later find out his endgame was to help Ghost overcome the illness causing her to fade away.
In the sequel's post-credits stinger, Scott Lang travelled into the Quantum Realm to retrieve the necessary materials to cure Ava Starr, but The Blip happened, and he was left stranded (Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne, and The Wasp all faded into dust). Even years later, we don't actually know what happened next to Ghost, though she is set to return in Thunderbolts when it's released in theaters next year (assuming the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes don't delay it any further).
As for Fishburne, the actor recently confirmed that he'll be back as Bill in What If...?'s second season.
We've previously heard that he'll star in an episode set during the 1980s, and a new Marvel Legends action figure offers a first look at what Foster will look like suited up as the MCU's Goliath.

The costume pays homage to the character's comic book roots but still delivers an MCU-style spin on his appearance. It's doubtful we'll ever get to see Goliath appear in a live-action settling, so we're sure many of you will welcome his inclusion in the animated series...whenever it returns to Disney+.
Despite it once looking like What If...? season 2 would debut in 2023, 2024 now seems more likely (some online scoopers have gone so far as to suggest it might be pushed as far back as 2025). It's also been reported that the series will only run for a total of three seasons during the Multiverse Saga.
The response to What If...? was a positive one, and while the animation style wasn't to everyone's liking, the show boasted a star-studded cast and put a fun spin on many of the stories we've become incredibly familiar with.
