WHAT IF...? Season 2 Action Figure Reveals Laurence Fishburne's Bill Foster Suited Up As MCU's Goliath

We've known for some time now that Laurence Fishburne will play Goliath in What If...? season 2, and a newly revealed Marvel Legends action figure shows what the character will look like in animation...

Laurence Fishburne first took on the role of Bill Foster in Ant-Man and The Wasp, and while he proved to be something of an antagonist after taking aim at the Ant-Man Family, we'd later find out his endgame was to help Ghost overcome the illness causing her to fade away.

In the sequel's post-credits stinger, Scott Lang travelled into the Quantum Realm to retrieve the necessary materials to cure Ava Starr, but The Blip happened, and he was left stranded (Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne, and The Wasp all faded into dust). Even years later, we don't actually know what happened next to Ghost, though she is set to return in Thunderbolts when it's released in theaters next year (assuming the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes don't delay it any further).

As for Fishburne, the actor recently confirmed that he'll be back as Bill in What If...?'s second season.

We've previously heard that he'll star in an episode set during the 1980s, and a new Marvel Legends action figure offers a first look at what Foster will look like suited up as the MCU's Goliath.

The costume pays homage to the character's comic book roots but still delivers an MCU-style spin on his appearance. It's doubtful we'll ever get to see Goliath appear in a live-action settling, so we're sure many of you will welcome his inclusion in the animated series...whenever it returns to Disney+.

Despite it once looking like What If...? season 2 would debut in 2023, 2024 now seems more likely (some online scoopers have gone so far as to suggest it might be pushed as far back as 2025). It's also been reported that the series will only run for a total of three seasons during the Multiverse Saga.

The response to What If...? was a positive one, and while the animation style wasn't to everyone's liking, the show boasted a star-studded cast and put a fun spin on many of the stories we've become incredibly familiar with.

Check out this new look at the MCU's Goliath below.

These days we wait longer for animated shows than premium live action ones

Total [frick]ing Dollar Tree Power Ranger Kamen Rider GARBAGE

As if Larry Fishburne in a 70s Black Goliath costume wouldn't be cool as [frick]ing [frick].

Goddamn. Everything they produce is [frick]ing trash now.

Off topic, but since production is halting on several MCU projects, I believe that they will do what they did when productions halted for the pandemic and spend this time improving the projects.

Only positive from this delay is that they can work on cgi and make the product better.

Lol. God forbid they do any sort of redesign.

@Oberlin4Prez - it doesn't even make sense for him to be Goliath here and not ant man if they aren't even bothering with a redesign.

So they used Ant-Man mold and costume blue and white.

Worth every penny.

I strongly dislike it. It has no personality. It´s just a recolored Ant-Man suit.

It’s so boring how the the entire Ant-family suits all look basically the same.

Ghost being a part of the Thunderbolts is really all one needs to know.

For comparison, this is a fan-made concept art from 2018, when Ant-Man and the Wasp came out.

I bet some CNN reporters would think it is weird to see Nick Fury as Goliath.

I would be fine with everything else if they scrapped the helmet. I get making it based on Ant-Man but if he's just getting giant, should he require ant stuff?

Just a cheap excuse for a repainted toy that won't end up selling anyway.
