WHAT IF...? Season 2 Hot Toys Action Figure Reveals Our Best Look Yet At Sakaarian Iron Man Armor

An upcoming Hot Toys action figure offers perhaps our best look yet at What If...? season 2's Sakaarian Iron Man, easily the zaniest and most colourful version of Tony Stark's Hulkbuster we've ever seen!

When The Watcher assembled his Guardians of the Multiverse in What If...?, we know a lot of you were confused to see Gamora among the heroes hand-picked by Uatu. She hadn't shown up in the animated series before that point, though we'd later learn her episode had been postponed.

That was a result of the pandemic, of course, and the formidable Gamora Variant is now going to take centre stage in What If...? season 2 (when it's finally released).

We've already caught sight of Iron Man decked out in a very colourful Hulkbuster armour, and a new Hot Toys action figure - first shared on Toonado.com - offers a better idea of just how crazy this "Sakaarian Iron Man" looks.

In this reality, it's thought that Thanos sends his daughter Gamora to kill Tony Stark following the events of The Avengers. That somehow leads to the billionaire ending up on Sakaar where he cobbles together arguably the most unique armour we've seen in the MCU to date.

"What happened was we originally had an episode planned for earlier in the season that was a fun, light-hearted, living breathing Tony Stark-centric episode with Gamora," Head Writer A.C. Bradley previously revealed. "However, due to the COVID pandemic, one of our animation houses was hit incredibly hard, and the episode needed to be pushed into Season 2, because it would not be finished in time."

"I think everyone’s going to be surprised by the way Gamora gets that armor, and how her relationship with Tony evolves, because they’re obviously good friends in that bit that we see...It is a promise of more stories to come."

Despite it once looking like What If...? season 2 would debut in 2023, 2024 now looks more likely (some online scoopers have gone so far as to suggest it might be pushed as far back as 2025). We've also heard the series will only run for a total of three seasons during the Multiverse Saga.

Check out What If...?'s season 2's crazy new Iron Man armour below.

So season 2 is giving us the story that should've happened in season 1?

I still think season 1 was weak. Outside of dr strange, all those episodes really just played it safe. Too much of "what if this character had this mantle", and the need for this to build up to a multiversal avengers meant the episodes couldn't have the kind of consequences

@Origame - The Dr Strange and Ant Man episodes were the most unique concepts. I also enjoyed the Ultron getting the infinity stones story. But yeah, the “what if this hero was this hero” stuff was quite generic. The zombie episode was also weak compared to the comic story.

I wonder if they had to factor in Gamora for the inevitable team up of Season 2? Considering she was pivotal for the final battle against Ultron. I wonder if she will now also be included against the next villain

Is this a parody account now?

This is a turd on top of a pile of turds.

I love this so much, I can barely stand it.

I think Disney might actually be able to lose money in EVERY category of product.
