Last night director Adi Shankar took to his Facebook page to release our very first look at the Netflix Castlevania animated series. Shankar released the first poster for the series, as well as confirmation that the series will hit some time this year. Check out his post below. Are you guys excited for a Castlevania animated series? As always, make sure to let us know what you think!

Based on the classic Konami game franchise, the series will adapt the plot of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse, a game from 1989 originally released for the Nintendo Entertaiment System (NES). The production will also count with Kevin Kolde (Adventure Time),  with Warren Ellis writting the screenplay. The series is said to take inspiration from classic anime films like Akira and Ghost in The Shell.

Some good people working on this... might be worth a watch. I'm interested to see how it goes with Warren Ellis writing a cartoon..?!

Could be good.

Adi is a talented guy but an asshole. Saw him talk at a convention once and he's a real dick sometimes haha.

Were supposed to get a Castlevania movie about a decade ago.

Had 2 director changes and even had James Wan at the helm, but never came to be.

looks good! can't wait for this. castlevania is one of my all time favorite game series behind mario, zelda and sonic. also, dracula's curse is a good way to start. if they go on beyond that season wise, this could be like jo jo's bizarre adventure with each part focusing on a new generation of heroes.
