Based on the classic Konami game franchise, the series will adapt the plot of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse, a game from 1989 originally released for the Nintendo Entertaiment System (NES). The production will also count with Kevin Kolde (Adventure Time), with Warren Ellis writting the screenplay. The series is said to take inspiration from classic anime films like Akira and Ghost in The Shell.
