Mike Flanagan fans have been anxiously awaiting a first look at The Haunting of Hill House director's latest project, and Netflix has now shared the first teaser trailer for Midnight Mass, which is set to premiere on the streaming service on September 24.

This creepy first look at the show doesn't give us very much to go on, but we know the story will focus on the arrival of a mysterious priest (Legion's Hamish Linklater) to a small island community and the unexplained, seemingly supernatural events that follow.

Is Father Paul a man of God, or is he in league with the other guy? Something tells us it won't be quite that simple, but sinister goings on are certainly afoot on Crockett Island.

Midnight Mass "tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?"

The limited series is set to run for seven episodes, and also stars Kate Siegel, Rahul Abburi, Crystal Balint, Matt Biedel, Alex Essoe, Annarah Cymone, Annabeth Gish, Rahul Kohli, Kristin Lehman, Robert Longstreet, Igby Rigney, Samantha Sloyan, Henry Thomas, and Michael Trucco.

Can't wait to see this, a huge Mike Flanigan fan. I hope he gets more love from mainstream audiences and movie fans too. His tv shows have been hits but his movie track record hasn't made a lot of money despite most being really good and interesting.

Hopefully it's better than Bly House... that shit was a boring romance show with some ghost elements.
