Netflix has used X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide some fresh stills of significant Fire Nation figures in anticipation of a major reveal for its upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender television series during Netflix Geeked Week 2023.

Geeked Week is a multi-day event that begins on November 6 and concludes on November 12. Fans should expect new trailers, updates on their favorite shows, and possibly an announcement or two regarding new projects Netflix is working on.

In order to promote the upcoming event, Netflix gave fans a fresh peek at a few important Fire Nation members before what fans hope will be the reveal of a teaser trailer during Geeked Week festivities.

The adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon is confirmed to premiere in 2024. Albert Kim (Nikita, Leverage) is serving as showrunner.

In the images released fans of Avatar can see Dallas Liu (PEN15) as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim's Convenience, The Mandalorian) as Uncle Iroh, Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0, Lost) as Fire Lord Ozai, Ken Leung (Inhumans, The Blacklist) as Commander Zhao, and Elizabeth Yu  (Somewhere in Queens)as Princess Azula.

The series also stars Gordon Cormier as Avatar Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka.

Water, Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony - then everything changed. A live-action adaptation Aang's story.

The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope.

But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang, a young Air Nomad — and the last of his kind — reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Alongside his newfound friends Sokka and Katara, siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai. But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko determined to capture them, it won’t be an easy task. They’ll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way.

Whatever they dud to bring daredevil to life in she-hulk (the acrobatics), is how they need to do the action scenes in this live action Airbender series. That style choreography and ample cgi for the "effects" are what's needed for me to be invested.

Don't know about Zuko's scar.

Looks no different than M Night's Zuko's scar, its just more noticeable here because the actor has much lighter skin

@dracula - I do wish it was more pronounced but I do think it works better here then the movie definitely.

God I hope this is good…

I do like the looks though I’m not entirely sold on the actress playing Azula , she seems too sweet…

However , that could be something that works in her favor that outward she looks nice & sweet but is just a monster inside.

Hopefully its good

Hopefully if it is good, they dont cancel it before they reach the end of the story (with season length probably being around 10 episodes guessing they need 5-6 seasons). wonder how they are changing the timeline. obviously the actors are going to age and they cant get a full series out in a year. So the timeline of when sozin's commett comes is going to need to be changed

Dante Basco's niece would be a good Toph. Her Cassandra Cain may have sucked but that was on the writing and can 100% see her playing Toph

@RitoRevolto - If they are following the animated show and comics, Toph doesn't show up until "Book 2:Earth". Season 1 is Book 1:Water and it depends if they are spending 1 season per book or 2 season per book, if so Toph might not be on the show until Season 3.

@mastakilla39 - That's riiight! But season 3?? How about we gloss over Book 1 and skip straight to Book 2. Love Katara but Toph is supreme lol.

Zuko and Azula don't look like they can convincingly look angry and moody all the time. Look like kids you actually wanna share tea with (which isn't at all how I'd describe them in the show). Ozai and Iroh look very fitting though

Not in love with the Zuko and Azula casting. Azula looks nothing like her cartoon counterpart really. Azula had a long face and it was thinner. They naturally draw villains this way to make them look mean all the time. This pic looks snarky. Obviously too soon to tell though.

It looks considerably better than the first film, but I’m remaining skeptical. Netflix is really hit and miss with their anime adaptations.

They made it look like Zuko has a black eye lol Why can't anyone in Hollywood get his burn scar right!?!?
