AHSOKA: Ashley Eckstein Addresses Rumors She Has A Cameo Role In Upcoming Live-Action Disney+ TV Series

Ashley Eckstein put Ahsoka Tano on the map thanks to her work in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, but could we see the actress make a cameo appearance in Disney+'s Ahsoka alongside Rosario Dawson?

It goes without saying that Rosario Dawson is a great choice to play Ahsoka Tano, but there was still some backlash when she was cast in The Mandalorian. That's mostly down to how beloved voice actress Ashley Eckstein's portrayal of the character is, with her lending her talents to the Jedi in a number of projects, including The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

It's recently been reported that Eckstein got to meet Dawson on the set of Ahsoka, and the former had nothing but good things to say about her live-action counterpart.

However, is it possible she shot a cameo role during that visit?

"I don’t wanna start a rumor. People are like, ‘She’s on the set. She played a character.’ No, it was just a set visit," Eckstein tells EW (via SFFGazette.com). "So I have not filmed a cameo for the Ahsoka series. I talk about throwing your dreams out into the universe, so it would be a dream come true if I got to do a cameo, because my background is in live-action."

We'd be surprised if Dave Filoni doesn't find Eckstein something to do in Ahsoka, though the actress is just as excited as everyone else to see how this story plays out.

"I cannot wait to see what’s explored in the Ahsoka series," she enthused. "I only know what the fans know, the theories that are out there, but I’m already really excited with what I think they’re going to cover in the live-action series."

Eckstein continues to be the voice of Ahsoka in animation, something Filoni has promised the actress will always be the case. That's why we got to hear her in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi earlier this week in episodes that explored various key moments in the hero's life, including what led to her coming out of hiding (which seemingly broke canon).

Who do you guys think Eckstein could play in a possible Ahsoka cameo?

@TheRealBabyGrog - nah I’ve seen some of her live action work, love her but Disney made the right choice going with someone else

@TheRealBabyGrog - Initially, I was indifferent about some fans not agreeing with her not being cast in live action, but in hindsight...after watching the end of CW, Rebels, and TOTJ I understand it now. Rosario's version I guess works because she's older, wiser. That said, I don't think Ashley would have had any problems conveying that. Filoni put Ahsoka on the map, but Ashley brought her to life.

She did a set visit but she only knows whT we know? I doubt that. Doesn't mean she has a cameo. But come on.

I was so confused about the cameo comment. At first I thought ''well she's starring in it as the titular character'', but then I realized she was replaced with Dawson.

I'm sure she's made a lot of really good money playing the character over the years.

You know I never understood why these Hollywood types don't spend some of their own money hiring some Hollywood friends to come together for a weekend or 2 to get professional Hollywood makeup done and have a big name director friend of yours shoot a single take professional looking monolog as Ashoka to show to industry that she really could have done a better job bringing Ashoka to life faifthfully than Dawson.

Probably because she knows the industry better than me knows it would be a waste of her time and money because Dawson is a bigger draw.

@TheVandalore - I like Dawson, but I wouldn't say she was the draw for me as much as the character. Like you said though, that's the industry for ya. I remember Stallone talking about how a film like Rocky maybe doesn't get made today. So many great films from actors we now consider "stars" were because the director saw something in them that made them take the chance. We all see it with Eckstein, so yeah...industry baby.
